Oklahoma drug court judge is charged with perjury

Pittsburg County's drug court judge has been accused in a perjury indictment of lying to the state grand jury four times.



The indictment against Special Judge William H. “Bill” Layden Jr., 61, was made public Wednesday in Oklahoma County District Court.

It is the second state indictment against the judge. He is accused in the first indictment of conspiring to impede an investigation of missing drug court funds.

The judge has denied wrongdoing. His attorney has said he will not resign.

Also charged in the conspiracy indictment were former drug court prosecutor James Michael “Mike” Miller, 43, and former drug court administrator Angela Marcum, 53.

Miller also faces his own perjury indictment, and Marcum faces a separate embezzlement indictment.

Marcum is accused in the embezzlement indictment of stealing more than $27,950 in fees collected from drug court participants while she was the drug court administrator.
