horrible smelling gas and stomach ulcer?
    #15150322 -

hello all. something weird has been going on.. for the past few weeks i've develped the FOULEST smelling gas i've probably ever had in my life, it seems to occur regardless of what i eat, and it occurs frequently :frown: what are things that could have possibly caused the recent change..? because it's not pleasant, neither for myself nor those around me

and then tonight after smoking a cigarette for the first time in awhile (i don't plan on smoking another one,) i got a really bad stabbing pain (felt like the severe stabbing pain i once got from taking too many prescription anti-inflammatory pills ,) in my stomach that lasted an estimated 30 minutes or so.. why would smoking a cig cause a very unpleasant piercing stomach pain like that, does this sound like an ulcer? could it be related to the gas? i'd only noticed stomach pain similar to this maybe a few other times this past weeks, and it was always much milder

Somethings going on in your GI tract. Cigs will irritate your stomach because the smoke in your mouth fools your stomach into thinking there's food on the way and it starts secreting gastric juices in preparation. When there is none forthcoming, the juices just sit there and irritate the lining. In any case, you might want to see a doc.

I would maybe try incorporating probiotic yougurt or something of that nature into your diet if you haven't already.

Also stop smoking, or cut back.

An increase in flatulence from the norm (as long as diet is not dramatically altered) means something inside you is creating excess gas:
Especially in the case of smelling unusually horrible, that's a sign of some sort of fucked up bacterial situation:

Last time I had food poisoning I had the most noxious and excessive gas I've ever encountered in my life.  My gut would literally distend ~2in during the night, requiring frequent trips to the shitter in order to unleash the fiery gas.

The smoking and resulting pain is indicative of an increase in stomach HCl, and in turn an ulcer.  Most ulcers are the result of a bacterial infection.

All signs point to fucked up gastrointestinal homeostasis.  Def. see your doctor, if your lucky you'll need a fecal transplant (no shit).

With the exception of grammatical corrections, everything I say is completely false and without foundation.

This is about the best answer.. - it might also be a gall stone which is getting stuck in your bile duct, in which case it'll either pass through, or you'll have a pain in your stomach 2nd to none if it gets stuck.

In terms of stomach ulcers - I've been suffering from ulcers for the past 5 years, and in terms of stomach pain, there hardly is any.  First signs of stomach ulcers would be heartburn, excessive belching(burping) and a fairly 'warm and burny' sensation in your stomach.

Other thing to check is your stool color (weird, i know) if they're very dry and/or dark, then most like there's a problem with your gall bladder - but getting it removed is a simple procedure.  Also look out for extreme weight loss and skin and eyes going yellow(jaundice) when it comes to problems with stomach ulcers/cancer and gall bladders..

otherwise man, try eating healthier - specifically try bean soup for a while, and hopefully it passes on by..

btw, stomach pain can also be a result of stress and as said above, not eating properly.

hope that helps man
