New Opeth + tour

For those of you who do not know, progressive death metal kings known as Opeth have released a new album with no death growls or death metal, its just progressive rock. It still has some metal elements but cannot be considered death metal. I started a thread on it a little while back.

They are currently on tour with death metal and depressive rock band Katatonia. I saw them play last night. I, being a true metalhead, was disappointed to not hear any death metal the whole night. Certain parts of certain songs by both bands would be particularly heavy and headbang-able, it really wasn't a death metal concert. Now Opeth played some old tracks that weren't metal tracks, and overall they played amazingly (they always do). I was just so saddened. I'm just warning everyone who would want to go see the show in hopes of seeing some death metal, like me.
But I mean it was totally worth it. I would recommend it. Opeth rules. And Katatonia was sick as well.

I'm glad Opeth scrapped the Cookie Monster growls. Just sounds more intelligent. Heritage is a damn good album.

My post isn't a contradiction at all. I said I was upset that they didn't play any death metal, but the acoustic and progressive rock songs they played were great. How is that a contradiction?

Also, I meant to write "ALTHOUGH certain parts of certain songs..."
