Rainbow Gathering

I might be going to my first Rainbow Gathering this summer, and I was wondering if anyone here has been to one before. What's it like? What should I bring? I talked to someone who went to Rainbow Gathering and said he traded someone for some DMT. I heard something about how people there use barter instead of money. Is that true? If so, what kind of stuff should I bring to trade?(I'm hoping I can get some DMT, too)

You can trade just about anything for anything at a gathering(besides money) books, instruments, drugs. Food is free and communial. 80% of people are real humans and very kind and good hearted. You'll be getting alot of hugs and "Welcome home brother"'s.

What gathering are you planning on going? I have very close friends who pretty much live wandering around with the Rainbow Family in National Forest, I think I'll be attending the nationals over the 4th of July out West in the Great Basin.

yes i plan on going to my first one this year too. its out in the great basin which i guess is cali utah and that area. I've never heard a bad word about it.

Yep, Home of Fast Eddie and the rest of the wrecking crew :frown:

They have very little in commen with the Rainbow Family and thats why they have to have there own little camp. So they can get drunk and beat the shit out of each other.

I've been warned about them people before and I've had friends that had 'run ins' with that crew.

ss7-I might be over there at that time, just all depends on how I do with concert tickets.

a camp is the alcohol camp, it's at the front of the trail, which kinda gives a bad first impresion of the place, and the pot costs way more there(is people sold pot there, wich of course they dont)

I made a thread in the gathering forum about this, but got no responses. I'm a rainbow addict, got the welcome home site linked in my sig. Everything is barter, but yes bring water, and volenteer to help in the kitchens. A couple that i like are the air head cafe and the tea time kitchen, but thier pretty much all cool.

Are you going to the national's? Thats the place to be. My only NEED TO DO thing all year.

You sound like a friend of mine, if anyone every meets a charector they call Goofy it'd be him. The only thing thats been steady in his life for 5 or 6 years is Nationals (he's only 20). He's a good guy and I'm lucky to know him.

the reason they have the A camp is to contain all the drunks in one area, since there is always going to be people who need to have thier booze, at least this way they're not all over the place starting fights and doing all sorts of other anoying drunk stuff.
