Some morning lbm pictures, reishi (?), and some others. (Microscopy added)

Went out for some pictures this morning, any guesses appreciated.

1) Bulbitius sp.




2) Growing from the trunk of a living redwood, possibly with some kind of algae/scum/lichen.








3) Growing from the base/ground around the trunk of a living redwood with woody debris mixed in. It has a partially hygrophanous cap, the center faded and the margin darkened.




Spores on gill, 1000x, 1 μ divisions, mounted in water with immersion oil
They have faint & minute cystidia-like formations on the surface, otherwise smooth with no germ pore.  Few spores were found.

Some kind of hyphae on the cap surface I think, 400x, 2.44 μ divisions, mounted in water

Central area of the gill, 400x, 2.44 μ divisions, mounted in water


4) Growing from the ground mixed with wood debris under a redwood.




These are from the other day.

5) Is this reishi?  Was growing from the base of a hardwood tree, I think something in the Ulmaceae family.  Smells strongly like a turkey tail (You'll know what I mean if you've used them as gum before).





6) Lichen sp. on an old grave stone from 1866.




7) Phellinus sp., growing on an ornamental fruit tree.




2-4 were all found under the same tree.

I was thinking maybe something Omphalinoid for 2, reading up on Hygrophorus screams that I need to do microscopy for these, but I am not sure how good of sections I can get considering their size.  I also failed to get any spore prints...

I added some microscopy to #3, they have pretty interesting spores. :cool:  Not sure how many of my pics are useful and if anyone knows the what some of the unlabeled pictures are please let me know .:smile:

I have a paper on Ganoderma - "study of some Ganoderma species" Steyaert. PM me if you want it.

Thanks and someone at MO seems convinced its Ganoderma lucidum, "This grew from hardwood; it has 3-5 pores per mm, and brownish color context."  That was my best guess before, but I don't really have much experience with Ganoderma.
