LBMs
    #1129020 - 12/10/02 03:24 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

These are some mushies I found in my backyard...Not sure what they are so Ill just eat them and find out. Just kiding! Cute little LBMs anyway.

I found these growing in lawn grass. caps range from 1 to 3 cm. Spores on the large one are particularly brown, stem in solid, gills are completly detached from the stem. These are coming up from rain we had over thanksgiving weekend.

They appear to be Pan foens... Not active, but still fun to look at.

Sorry but you will not find cubensis in socal. I used to live there, I know what its like hehe

Anyways, you might want to check out any pastures inland where fog collects and look for subbalteatus. Youd have better luck doing that.

Yes, and those are definetly pan foens. Subbs look very similar, a little more robust and reddish.

Here are a couple pics of the ones in the grass. Cute little pans Huh?

I heard that people pick cubensis in chino where there are cows and fog almost every morning. Could be wrong though.
These particular Pans. are known to grow off straight grass?
If so What others grow off grass?

I found this picture of Pan Foeni. that was a perfect match. These things can really vary in appearance.
Good call...
