A self righteous nerd who is so insecure with his condition that he goes around saying things that most people already know in a desperate attempt to sound like a genius.

A few years ago I remember the media making a big deal out of his sudden realization that it's probable that we are not alone in the universe. Well no shit, I remember having this thought at age fourteen. But sense Stephen hawking said it its now all of a sudden "official"  give me a break.

Average intelligence and a little sympathy can get you far in life.

If you asked a bunch of average people who the greatest physicist alive is, a lot of them would say Stephen Hawking.  If you asked a bunch of physicists the same question, he wouldn't even come in the top 10.  He's more of a science popularizer than a scientist, and as a science popularizer, he doesn't hold a candle to Carl Sagan, or even Michio Kaku.

Watched some show the other day called Curiosity with him trying to convince the viewers that there was no god. Not really convinced but still fun to watch and useful to counterbalance my religious nature :shrug: Hella cool to watch in HD as well
