Mountain lions are highly unlikely to attack full grown homosapiens... Period
I'd be more concerned with a boar wild hog TBH...

Very true, but just knowing they are around can still be a bit unsettling.

I've had em circle my camp on two different occasions in the last few years.
They are all over in Southern Oregon.

LOL. MAYBE the world's buffest, most vicious 100+ pound (if possible) pitbull could take down a tiny, unimpressive black bear...but lol. Apparently when aristocrats used to pit exotic animals against each other for fun and money (probably still happens), a lion (not cougar) would usually beat a tiger due to the lion's stronger forelimbs which are more suitable for close-quarter combat, even though typically a tiger is the faster, sometimes larger predator. Well, one day they brought in a brown/grizzly bear, and apparently it was peacing out lions with one paw swing, crushing the lion's skull like a giant club.

Ultimate matchup, heaven or hell, round 1: grizzly vs...a white rhino? :ancientaliens:

Dude. First off, are you talking about an African lion? But really, it doesn't matter whether you're referring to an African lion or a mountain lion, because both would shred a pit into barbecue pulled pork. Mountain lions have been documented killing solitary wolves. WOLVES, man. And a lone wolf would annihilate even the most well, viciously trained pitbull.

Average of 6 attacks per year in the US from 1991-2003, so not a common thing. (just counting attacks that were reported. there were probably more that weren't reported) But the people they do attack are usually joggers or cyclists. Their vision is weird and picks out fleeting movements which they cannot resist chasing down. Running away is the worst possible thing you could do if a mountain lion sees you.
