Todays "Horror" Movies...
    #14764081 -

It makes me sick. It is hard to come by a good horror movie.

I just watched Insidious. It wasnt down right terrible but honestly I am so tired of these movies about meager spirits from another world and haunted houses. Fuck. What happened to demons biting somebodies neck off? And personally I dont like the saw movies. They are in a catagory of their own under torture movies. I like a good horror movie with live demons and absolute hell on earth.

The Descent was great
Pet Cemetary
The Hills Have Eyes 1
Demons was a good set of movies. It was creepy when I was little at least.

What are some good ones that are rated R and are not sick perverted sex horror movies or torture movies. I want some demons and monster shit yo.:stoned:

I actually really enjoyed the remake of 'The Haunting'; it may not have been as tightly knit of story as the original, but the scenery is some of the best I have ever seen in any movie.

Kinda funny that you hate that perverted shit, yet liked the 'Hills Have Eyes'... That was a truly vile movie (mutated hillbilly rape is not my thing at all).

I'm a huge fan of horror movies.

1408 is probably my most favourite "newer" horror.

Have you seen freddy vs jason?  It was actually not to bad.

What about The Mist?

Fuck yes dude :highfive: That was my absolute favorite movie when I was like 7 onwards.

Jack Nicholson portrays the subtle but clear descent into batshit insanity really, really fucking well.

Sadly, you will not find good horror movies in american cinema our days. You have to look at european and asian cinema, which offers a couple of decent horror flicks now and then.

Session 9 is a great flick.

I've seen a few other good horror movies on netflix, but most of the newer ones suck.  Exception being some of the foreign ones are pretty good if you wanna fuck with the subtitles =/= no shroomery browsing

I thought the American version was based of an Asian version. Wasnt it called Ringu? The Grudge also has an asian version too I think?

hell yeah that one was indeed pretty damn good.

the problem with horror movies these days is that they rely on JUMPING OUT AT YOU shock tactics instead of setting a properly eerie atmosphere, which if you ask me is what really makes a horror movie.

Wrong, The Ring was Japanese first. Want pure, unadulterated, fucked up Jap-horror? Check out 'Audition'... Good god.

You're right, and I think the original asian versions are far superior. But I understand what you mean.

Here's a couple of titles that are really worth it :

Battle Royale
Audition
Thirst
A Tale of Two Sisters
Suicide Club
Ichi The Killer

All very good asian horror movies.

I only saw the first two on your list, and found Battle Royale hilarious for some reason, and loved it. I'll take your word on the others, if only because of your avatar.

BACK TO OP, if you complain that most horror movies are about ghosts and spooky stuff like that, you need to watch more.

What about Martyrs, High Tension, Bug, Antichrist, etc etc.
