ever need motivation to go to a party?

I'm meant to be leaving right about now to go to a gathering at my good friend's house. Thing is I was meant to be getting the train down with my buddy who has just cancelled because he is feeling ill. Now i'm set to get a two hour train by myself and I just can't be fucked...

Thing is I said i'd go and if I don't i might end up regret it later...

Yeah, and lots of regrets for not going.

And sometimes lots of regrets for going. But if you don't feel like it, you don't feel like it. Rarely is one actually OBLIGATED to go to a party, shit, even if its their OWN party.

A two-hour train ride isn't that bad. Don't you have a book, or an iPod or something? I prefer train rides and shorter multi-hour road trips along myself.

yeah, this is what i'm thinking. Thing is then i've got an hour walk through a bad part of town and the aforementioned two hour train ride back!

Depends on if the party is likely to be worth the train journey.

I try not to turn down any parties.  They are always fun or at least an opportunity to meet new people.  You do have quite a journey though, so its up to you to decide if its worth it or not.

I need motivation to go to anywhere! Between the anxiety and/or depression, there is always something holding me back... But lately I have been pushing myself to go out and I am a lot happier now:smile:

:thumbup:That push can come from within whenever we want it too.

Some years back I was in jail for the night and heard a guy wake up at 3:00AM coming down off a trip...he looks around and says, "This is the best day of my life".

That guy now owns a few restaurants in the area. And who says LSD is harmful? Heh.

I would never travel 2 hours for a party, even if its a family christmas party.

I literally forced myself to go to one of my college end of session parties... (out of 8).

I really hate parties...

Well, no, I hate people. Not parties. Parties are awesome when it like 1 or 2 of your friends

All the time.

Mainly for the reason you stated:  The effort involved to get there.  My house is comfortable as hell.  Painted the way I want, decorated to my liking.  I like it there.

Then you say I have to get dressed, travel an hour or so (one way) to get there, be social, and do it all over again just to be hungover and tired the next day.

Yeah, it takes motivation nowadays.

2 hours is way far for me, but Britain is fairly small :lol:. I wouldn't go all the way to London on my own just for a party. But you might be accustomed to longer distances.
