For those who voted for Obama, do you regret it?
    #14726521 -

I am just curious to find out how many folks regret voting for him. Personally, I feel like such a neophyte for getting swepped up in the emotional rhetoric. Now, if I could go back in time a change my vote, I would write in a candidate who represents my views. No longer will I vote for the lesser of two evils, who I think will win, or who seems to more qualified based on how charismatic and emotional the individual appears to be. I seriously feel violated by this man.

Just realized how shallow I was in 2008.

Anyone else get swepped up in the emotion of the election? Thats what happened to me, should of actually looked into what he was saying instead of taking him at face value.

I do hope the youth out there that were all giddy over him in 2008 learn a lesson from this.  I don't regret the vote because he's still better than McCain.  The worse of two evils is the best we're going to get.  Writing in a person is a waste of gas and time unless there's a chance millions of others will do the same and that's not likely to happen.  We'll continue to get our worthless candidates from both of the parties unless some rich person funds his entire campaign similar to Perot in 92.

For this next election, if Paul or Johnson(really like Johnson both have no chance though) are the selection, I will vote for them. If not, I will either write in Johnson, or find someone else who is even closer to my views. At least you did not allow your emotions to become clouded.

In my opinion, the goal of writing in candidates is not to win, it is to delegitmize the two prominate parties. To show washington we are collectivley tired of their bullshit. In my opinion, things would be no different under McCain, the only difference would be in rhetoric.

This. Also, he's had a tough hand to work with... Basically the second Great Depression here. Amongst other problems.

I never really believed he was going to legalize drugs, so not a whole lot of disappointment there.

I hated Bush just as much as the next guy, but I have never been a fan of Democrats, so I personally thought this guy was a douche bag since the elections.  You are not alone though, many people on here have expressed similar feelings as you in other forums.  Obama was so under qualified for this position and now everyone is realizing that he is not a miracle worker.

The thing about Ron Paul is that he actually has knowledge useful for being a president all of these other guys are just businessmen or lawyers.

I didn't either, the dissapointment came from almost zero change in policy. What significant policy  changes have occured since he took office? Why are a lot of the policies similar to Bush?

Well, I'm not the most politically informed dude. But how about Obamacare? (In and of itself a mixed bag, I know.)

first, there were more than 2 candidates on the ballot in most states,
second, you cant say that he was better than McCain because McCain wasnt
the president at any point, we also have no idea what McCain would or
wouldnt have done, you're basing it on the preconceived notion that McCain
was the same as bush... with McCain you got a legitimate voting record,
not some jackass that only voted 20% of the time and voted 'present' 80%
of the time... it's like paying a salesman to answer the phones for 2
hours while paying him for the 8

then the media will again push the 'spoiler effect' and people will shy
away from the 3rd party candidates... it happens in every election now

Only idiots thought he was going to be a miracle worker.
I voted for him because he could speak fucking english. As far as figure heads go I think he's done alright, the rest of the world more or less takes us seriously again.
The country is putting itself back together, slowly, instead of rapidly destroying itself.

In my opinion, there are so many problems and cost with Obama's health care bill,  that it is not worth it. I am glad that some folks who did not have insurance before are now elligible, but there are better ways to go about providing that. For example, vouchers for private care.

Things would be different.  I could tell a black dude to "Keep the change."
