What kinds of contingency OTC drugs do you have in your medicine cabinet?

Like the thread topic says! What kind of Over The Counter drugs do you have in your medicine cabinet, not for things that chronically ail you but to deal with unexpected or unusual but anticipated events?
And please review them!


ACETAMINOPHEN/PARACETAMOL
allround painkiller and fever reducer of approx 6 hours duration. Good for headaches and colds, goes reasonably well with non liver taxing drug combinations.

NAPROXEN
my hardcore OTC painkiller/anti-inflammatory/fever reducer. Works 12 hours so you can get an uninterrupted day and an uninterrupted nights sleep with just 2 a day. Its considerably stronger than Acetaminophen.

CETIRIZINE
all-round anti allergic drug that works 24 hours and causes little sedation. Good against all sorts of allergic reactions, of the airways, eyes, skin etc. Useful for testing new drugs, especially herbal ones as it reduces a possible allergic/anaphylactic response if taken as premedication, buying time.

CYCLIZINE
A motion sickness pill but acts against all forms of nausea. Goes very well with poppy tea because it reduces nausea, itching and potentiates the opiate. So much so that it has been banned in the UK in the past because junkies were coinjecting it with their heroin.

BISACODYL
a laxative, I almost solely use it right before going to bed on the day I used poppy tea, to make the going easy. Can double as a chemical alarm clock if you know your shit :lol:

LOPERAMIDE
a drug that paralyzes the bowels. You should NOT use it for diarrhoea what its for, because generally diarroea contains microbes or chemical/mechanical irritants that need to leave your system pronto. Use it when you have used a drug who's central effects may include bowel cramps, such as stimulants, to counteract them as you have them.

VICKS INHALER
For your nose, lungs, when you got a cold or as an awesome trip/rolling toy. Nonmedicated so yu can use it as desired.

ANTACID TABS
Typically a combination of magnesium oxide and calcium carbonate, for immediate relief of heartburn (stomach acid)

RANITIDINE
For relief of heartburn (stomach acid) lasting 12 hours, works by reducing acid production

PURE VITAMIN C POWDER
bought at the brewing supply store, ascorbic acid powder greatly reduces the symptoms of the common cold or flu if taken as a heaping teaspoon (3 grams) of powder dissolved in a glass of water or juice, 3-6 times a day. If it gives you diarroea, back it off about 1/5.

BAG OF ANTI COUGH CANDY
bought at the candystore, traditional cough candies contain oils like menthol and eucalyptus, and have been proven to be as effective against cough as medicated cough syrups.

ROLL OF DEXTRO ENERGY
Dextrose (blood sugar) candy in case someone gets hypoglycemic, such as stoners being overwhelmed, or diabetics.


I like keeping a small OTC pharmacy for contingencies. Every few years you may need to replace unused meds but when you DO get one of these ailments these drugs can save your day, or even your life.

Some shitty mixture of 500mg paracetamol and 8mg codeine phosphate

5mg's dextroamphetamine sulphate

some ketamine about 100-150mg

about 1250 mg 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine

3 valium pills of unknown dosage

Pretty medicinal, innit. :awesome::lovemeds:

The codeine+acetaminophen is kinda OTC, I think I might be able to get some lab grade ibuprofen in powder form from the lab I work at.

Some sodium azide too :dead:

I have Benadryl (three generic kinds), some nasal sprays, cough medicine, an old prescription ear drop and suppositories.

everything in my medicine cabinet is left over from a relationship that ended like 3 years ago.

The only thing i have for myself is a tube of capscacin cream that worked terribly, worst product i ever bought.  I rubbed it on my back, it didn't do anything, so i rubbed it on my neck, it didn't do anything so i rubbed it on my feet and legs.  Like an hour later my hands and feet start burning, nothing else.  Shower didn't stop it, dishwashing soap didn't stop it.

Worst product ever.  pretty uncomfortable.

Ibuprofen
Multivitamins
Promethazine
Vitamin C
Loperamide
Melatonin
Piracetam or Aniracetam
Milk Thistle Extract

Prescription only things i keep there too are;
A fast acting opiate (for pain, i like ER pills/pods better recreationally)
10mg Valium - always.

I really like the Aniracetam, just started 1.5g/day today. had a lovely day in the forest.
I take milk thistle & Vitamins every day, I love them.

naproxen
diphenhydramine
loperamide
melatonin (decided I don't like it though, everytime I take it as a sleep aide I wake up after ~3 hours with a headache? :shrug: I prefer the diphen for sleep)
caffeine pills
a small amount of leftover lorazepam

I don't have shit in my OTC cabinet or my recreational cabinet.  Any illness have I fight off with either sleep or alcohol, and it seems to work like a charm no matter what ailment I have.

Aspirin and naproxen for general relief, diphenhydramine for sleep are the main ones. I was fortunate to discover cetirizine this year as well.

Cough Syrup- for cough/cold.
Diphenhydramine- for sleep and itchiness.
Excedrine- for headaches and migraines.
Zantac- don't use it anymore, makes my IBD and IBS worse, a nice bowl is the only cure. :vaped:
Valerian Root- bought it before I started xanax and still have this huge bottle of capsules.
Melatonin- for sleep.

lol alcohol, I highly doubt this actually helps apart from a subjective point of view (like placebo :shrug:)

Try garlic next time!! This thing is absolutely fascinating. For sore throats and related infections (you know the most common kind of shit) eat a bunch of garlic like 4-5 cloves per meal and you WILL notice an improvement on the following morning. Do that 2-3 days and you'll be good as new :chilldog:
