Lactuca Virosa latex works. -Trip report
    #14588661 -

I harvested a rather large patch the other day and spent an evening cutting them up and harvesting the latex.

well, after like 2-3 hours of harvesting, and a night of drying, i got a piece approximately the size of a corn kernel.

It was a lot of work LOL

I smoked it all through a bong with my GF and there were definite pronounced effects no attributed to placebo.

-Auditory sensitivity
-Mild muscle relaxing sensation
-Legs felt slight jelly-like when walking.
-Noticeable change in perception, and thought process.
-Reading was harder; harder to focus and process what i was reading; reading seemed like more effort.

Overall it was a nice experience, and i would rate it near or slightly higher than average bud cannabis n terms of psychoactive effects, but that may be a result of high THC tolerance.

Lasted about an hour.

The amount of work it took to harvest the latex renders it a "once and awhile" type of thing from now on for me.

so yeah... it definitely works if you're up to the harvest!

I'm doing a warm water extract with the remaining plant material and i will tell you how that works out later if i remember.

yeah man i like it too, but im pretty sure you have to use raw latex and not make a extraction

I have made heaps of extractions and they dont work. But the latex is a different story

If you make a extract, make sure its cold or warm and never hot in my experience boiling hot water ruins potenity

Basically the shape of the leaves and the presence of spines and purple tinge on the stalk.

Virosa leaves are oblong, lance shaped.

Serriola, and Canadensis are "serrated" or deeply lobed.

I picked a bunch of some other kind by mistake in my harvest,  the leaves were deeply lobed, but the stalk was straight green and there were no spines.

I have no idea what kind that one was... *trashed*

I see another species of lactuca commonly around here "Lactuca muralis"

Commonly called "wall lettuce" because it is commonly found growing out of the cracks at the bottom of cement walls/sidewalks.

I doubt wall lettuce is worth collecting, but i just though id throw that out because it's another kind of wild lettuce i see all the time around here.
