Heres how it went down
‎-Leave house at 8ish,
-Arrive in Berkley and call "renegade hotline".
-Find out where the check point is.
-Arrive at check point which turned out to be a trading card/LAN party store, go in back, payed and got hand stamped. Also attain paper with directions.
-Directions took us to safeway parking lot in Oakland. Had to put white piece of paper on driver side dash board.
-Wait 20 mins.
-Van came to pick us up. Guy driving it smoked a joint with us.
-Dropped us off behind a warehouse next to train tracks.
-Get in, bought legit Molly, didn't take it yet.
-10-15 mins, music cuts out and everyone had to be quite.
-had to turn lights on to look like legit warehouse
-Cops come in;
Whos the DJ here? ...no answer.

Only once have I been to an underground party where the cops broke it up, and it so happened to be in Oakland. There were quite a few people too, probably around 400 or so. I was not sober but had no choice other than drive out of there as they cops were forcing people to leave. There was a check point around the corner which was super sketch, fortunately I did not turn down that street. Before we left we got word to try to come back a little later, so my buddy and I drove to a Burger King to get a bit of food and kill time. Went back an hour later and the party started back up & continued into morning in the warehouse basement.

I would love nothing more to get into a website called galaxyraver.com so i can attend more of these.
My goal this month was to go to a dance event every weekend, and I did :laugh:
And @openmind, we had to walk a mile to a safeway to get back to our fucking car ><

How did you find out about the renegade you went to last night?



I'm guessing you're relatively new to these sorts of thangs?...As fun as they can be, I would try to take it easy and pick & choose parties wisely, only go here and there as to not get burnt out on them. I remember when I first started going to undergrounds/renegades, I was wanting to head out to the bay every weekend since there is literally something going on all the time out there....Now I only go maybe once every month or two.



Unless you're straight down for the cause, if you can go sober and still have a good time then by all means have at it. And by sober I mean not on MDMA or any sort of psychedelic, pot and a little bit of alcohol doesn't count. Some people are into it for the drugs which really waters down the vibes IMO, others are into it for the sense of community and meeting like minded people....



The few renegades I've been to are more on the "ravey" side, candy kids, trance/house/hardcore etc, and a younger crowd....There's a whole lot of awesome underground parties I've been to that I wouldn't label as raves though they do have a lot of the same elements and atmosphere of a "rave", but they generally have an older somewhat more mature crowd, and no candy kids :smirk: ....Bass music, glitch, dubstep, hip hop, other various IDM....Those are the sorts of things I attend.

VERY BADLY
and sense of community is what I strive for. hell I'm in the pub of shroomery aren't I?!
I've attended etd.pop '09 and '10, '09 being the best of coarse. At etdpop '10 there were a lot of way to serous looking people and seizures everywhere. It was scary. I attended my first renegade called "Metal Slug" about 2 weeks ago. That was in knoxville, and it was a 2 and half hour ride on cutty ass roads with cliffs and shit. Then get off that road to a gravel road that was bumpy for about 30 mins. And boom huge bonfire, bad ass sound system, cool people, hookahs, weed everywhere. I will never attend a legal rave again. This whole system of you gotta know someone to be someone is rather stubern but respectable, it filterers out the weirdos and the "I thizz every weekend kids".
I found out about all these events from my friend Scott, who finds out his shit from his gf, or friend, i dont give a fuck what they are. any way she gets it from the kids who attend Santa Rosa Junior College, who get it from galaxy raver.
