Anyone watch the show Extreme Couponing? I can not believe these people regularly get 90-100% off of their groceries. It's unbelievable. Has anyone tried to copy what they do to any degree? How do you do it?

I want to do the same

It takes a lot more dedication than you might think... Its almost a full time job to acquire all the coupons and rebates

I'd think that the Internet would make it easier.
Have you checked out Coupon Suzy or whatever the heck?

Oh I know, they spend 20 hours a week or so just putting it together. I don't have the patience to do enough to get 95% off my groceries. But I mean, 33% would be good enough for me.

Idk... I saw it on TV.

It's supposed to collect all of the coupons on one website.
You select the stuff you buy, print out coupons, good to go.

Never tried it though- I'm just relaying the commercial. :lol:

Exactly. I cvaught this show today too. I'm interested in argriculturally sustainable living...growing your own food. Now that's savings.

I save between 15% and 30% (realistically) shopping with sale items and a store card. 20 Hours weekly should be a LOT more. Also, realize that a lot of the groceries they buy are prepackaged processed, generally unhealthy, items. Do you ever see them walking out with free fruits and vegetables?

One of my siblings does this and it's unbelievable to me. They'll routinely buy $120 worth of stuff and pay $4. I don't understand how it's possible.

I lived with a super saver and it was the absolute worst. Me and another roommate had to stop letting him do the shopping, it was disgusting.

For example, he would say he was going grocery shopping and ask for 25$ and I would say pick up things we need such as milk, butter, lunch meat, bread, chicken, steaks, yadda yadda.

This guy would come home with 200$ worth of groceries that he got for 5$, but no one in the house would eat them. 40 boxes of healthy choice microwave meals, 55 boxes of nutragrain bars, 45 packs of blueberry sausages, 20 cartons of creamer(even though no one drank coffee), and other completely random, useless, shitty food. I wish I had my old phone because I would send pictures of our fridge and cabinets to people with how ridiculous this shit was.

I stopped giving him money and told him not to shop because it was a complete waste of time, food, and money. Unless there was a deal he could get that was actually good, like maybe 5lbs of chicken for .50$, than to not bother with it. I had to do most of the shopping after we found out he had this "disease", because that's what it ends up becoming. You stop worrying about your needs, and just try to save like it your next heroin fix.

I watched the show. a chick said she spent like 40-60 hours.. the groceries cost around 550.. she only had to pay under 50. Id rather just have a fucking Higher paying job and buy that shit instead of doing that.

Most of Groupons shit sucks, but once in a while you actually can find a gem. Went out with a girl to a nice restaurant in the city and saved like 80%.

and yeah dshow...it was absolutely horrible. I'm glad one of my roommates broke lease so I could move out because I hated living with that kid...He was a great guy, but he had some issues like the coupon thing.
