Ultrasonic humidifiers IMO are not the best way to humidify your grow chamber. The mist is to thick and leaves heavey condensation on you cakes. The setup that is in Gadgets picture looks pretty good you should try to use some thing similar. There are numerous pages on perlite in the Grow/Find section under humidification techniques you should read as many of them as possible. I think perlite is a very good way to keep up the humidity it is just a little messy. The best is Shroom Gods Humidification Tek. You can also do a search on the subject and I am sure that you will find some great advice. If you are useing cakes the humidity has to be 95-100% if you decide to case your cakes the humidity does not have to be as high I THINK around 75-85%. This should also be taken into consideration. I hope some of this info has helped.

here's a pic of my current setup using perlight humidification. You can omit the fish tank air pump and just fan 2x daily (I have had equavilant results, just takes more work)

Humidity,

Sure does. the exaust tube stops about an 1/2 inch above the perlight level on the inside.

Made a couple simple modifications since pic, #1 I got rid of the light as it was not really needed since fruiting temps (so I am told) should be in the mid 70F's. #2 I replace the air pump with a much larger model to increase air exchange. I noticed that with the smaller pump, the cakes fathest away from air supply were fruiting much smaller than the ones up close to the air inlet. New airpump is a $20 Walmart Version for 50 gal aquariums.
