Shpongle

So I've got tickets for a Shpongle concert that's in two months. Should I take acid or some shrooms? Very excited about this, have any of you had the chance to experience Shpongle live?

I'd take acid though, IME acid is much better for parties and big social events.

I have seen Shpongle live twice, but never altered in any way other than alcohol. I suspect a low dose of either shrooms of acid would serve you well. The shpongletron seems trippy enough in itself. See below:

i saw shpongle last year in st louis MO and i took some acid.

it was probably the worst electronic show ive ever seen next to rusko. no joke, simon posford stood behind the table DANCING with his hands in the air most of the show. it was no different than listenin to a CD. im amazed he made money doing what he did that night.

shpongle is better when im at home tripping when im listening to it on my bose system :shrug:

i hope you have a better experience than me, but even simon posford said he isnt "much of a DJ"

hes coming back to town soon too, but im not payin 20 bucks for a ticket.

all he did was stand behind his laptops and swing his arms in the air while playing a shpongle cd.

he didnt mix ANYTHING!!! if i want to see a DJ i want to see a DJ actually do their job. not stand infront of a projector and wave their arms in the air 99% of the set.

simon posford is a HUGE disappointment.

go see bassnectar if you want a good electronic show.

Yea I was at this show, definitely wish he would have mixed it up a little bit. Still had a blast though, too bad they don't do live performances often

Do you have any idea what it took to make Shpongle's catalog? There's a reason they only did a handful of real live performances. It took 30+ musicians just to do the Live at the Roundhouse show.

Simon can mix like a motherfucker, but Shpongle tracks have a lot more than that to them.

If I had a chance to go to a Shpongle concert, I would in a heartbeat, and I'd take X and a smidgeon of LSD along with enough opiates to keep my panic under control.

simon has said himself that hes not that much of DJ... AKA he sucks live. and boy does he. you might wanna take a large amount of various drugs, maybe thatll allow you to enjoy that "show"

I saw shpongle at rainbow serpent festival in Australia in January. I was on acid, and the shrooms were just starting to kick in half way through their set. Let me say they are probably the tightest band I've ever seen live. Every single one of them was a natural born performer and musician.

So ahhh yeah... I say eat the acid and shrooms.

i love shpongle
but seeing him live (simon posford dj set) at rothbury 09 was a huge buzzkill

its usually dj sets
the rarer live sets are epic tho, as you can see in this video

I saw them live in london back in 2008.  Me and my girl each took about 1.5 average sized wow doses.  Epic night.  The after party with ott and crew wasn't too shabby either.
