The Zoo...

this past sat. i went to the zoo with some family and i must say, the shit is fucking depressing. they hardly put any thought into the habitats and there is little to no room.
dont get me wrong, zoo's in general have potential they just lack the funds... i guess. i always thought zoo's gave animals who are close to distinction or needed to be rescued another chance at life. i mean we are talking about wildlife who had miles upon miles of space to roam and then thrown into a 20x20ft box. i understand that in some situations these boxes are better than death, but couldnt we try a little harder?

They aren't becoming tenured professors or anything lol, I think you meant extinction but whatever.

it really wouldnt take that much, time and money, to give proper size and living arrangements for each animal. to be honest with you, there were a few animals that really didnt need to be there that was just taking up space. i always lived by the saying quality over quantity. i mean its mainly for drugs, but why not abide by that for most things?

Even as a kid I found Zoo's depressing. It's like prison for the animal, only they didn't do anything wrong. I couldn't imagine having the world opened up to me, then being captured, and put in some habitat, with fake shit, and people flashing bright lights at me.

The one close to me is pretty nice. It has big ass fields for each of the animals. You gotta stand there quietly and wait for something to walk by.
The monkeys didn't look to happy though.
