Does anyone know anyone under 40 with the name Wanda?  I was thinking about names today, and you don't see many people with names like Gladis, or Myrtle, and every time I met a 'Doris' she was an old lady who chain smoked.  I guess some names don't stand the test of time eh?

There was a girl in my elementary school named Wanda, but I don't know what became of her. But I know what you mean. Some names are just so out-dated.

Ethel, Gretchen, Francine...

I used to work at a nursing home and it seemed like those three and Marie were the most popular elderly female names. One of my good friends is named Francine and she hates it so I call her Franny all the time

By the same token, I don't think I've met any woman over 25 named Madison, and yet that seems to be a popular girl's name these days.

I wish some of the names popular in the 19th century would come back, like Ulysses or Abraham.
