Why do people hate on them so? What's so wrong about their scientific method?

At least they're promoting the use of experiment and observation to understand things that happen around us.

Because on the internet everyone is smarter than them and would do it better than they did. I kept hearing scientific method a lot too when reading discussions about them.

I don't know I used to like the show but it has gone down hill over the last season or two.

I watch to see kari byron and sometimes it's entertaining, too. I particularly liked the pain tolerance comparison between men and women. I thought the scientific methodology was OK on that one.

they're definitely wrong about some things. They were wrong about being able to beat the speed camera. Top Gear proved that you can, it's just highly impractical since traffic, bends in the road, etc make it pretty much impossible in a real world situation.

when they first came out i loved them. but i think after the first episode they've just gone down hill and now its gotten to the point that its not even watchable.

I think it's a cool ass show. Honestly, I haven't watched it too much. I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but sometimes their experiments are a bit questionable.

Like-Can a ninja catch an arrow in midair? Well, we have this guy who claims to be a ninja, we'll  see if he can. No, he couldn't, so that means it's impossible that any ninja could. (Not an episode I've seen, just the best example I could conjure)

Flawed logic in their conclusions is what bugs me. Just cuz they couldn't do it, it doesn't mean nobody could.

And yeah, that one chick is super hot.

Arrow catching, yeah they got it wrong.
The myth isn't about catching it right off the bow, the myth is about standing up on the castle wall and doing it.
Which is totally plausible, IMO.

I think their show is fun.  But dont for a second think it has anything to do with the scientific method.  Maybe you have answered your own question in that they promote a distorted, fictional view of what the scientific method is about.
