Alarm clocks
    #13860846 -

There should be one that delivers a small electric shock if you hit the snooze button more than 3 times, that gets worse every subsequent time.

I love this idea but would hate this alarm clock.

Honestly if you place your alarm clock 5-10 feet away from your bed you won't have a problem.  Once you have to stand up to turn the thing off youre already up

My first idea is one that shocks you to wake you up, and keeps getting worse the longer you stay in bed. Your circadian rhythm would be set in stone after 3 days.

I end up getting up half-asleep, snoozing, then carrying it closer to my bed.

I'm very devious when half asleep.

If you hit snooze 3 times it should inject you with 20mg of amphetamine

same here. even the most annoying sounds don't work. shock treatment sounds like the only way.

It should just have a metal snooze button that shocks the shit out of you if you even try to touch it...

I'm going to make an indestructible clock that vibrates when you hit snooze, then when you get mad and yank it out of the wall then proceed to hurl it at the wall in hopes that it breaks, it starts to play white noise and static because it is also solar-powered by the sun that shines onto the alarm clock panel, which powers up the surge protector device in the alarm clock.

It shuts off after 5 minutes being left untouched while producing a horrendous din, which is guaranteed to leave you more alert than coffee.

That's an even better idea. An alarm that produces horribly obnoxious noises and doesn't shut off for 5 minutes.

same. im fully capable of getting out of bed and turning off my alarm only to wake up 5 hours later with no recollection of the alarm going off.

when i lived with my parents i held full conversations with my mom while asleep a couple of times. one time i woke up halfway through the conversation and jumped because my mom scared me since she was right there looking at me when i got up. she was confused as hell until i told her i had been asleep. she said she had no idea that i was asleep, since i was sitting up and had my eyes open.

my alarm is fairly loud but it never wakes me up.

i've had it for years and years, over time i started getting out of bed, turning it off on the other side of the room and getting back into bed. all while still asleep.

reminds me that once a sleepwalker, always a sleepwalker :uhoh:

I want my whole bed placed on hydraulics and linked to my alarm clock so that the whole thing shakes until I'm ejected from it. This is the only way an "alarm clock" would ever reliably wake me up. I'm a very deep sleeper. I even tell people that if they need to wake me for something important that they should shake me furiously. Our furnace once exploded and I didn't even know until I woke up an hour or two later and saw fire trucks outside.

They should make an alarm clock watch with a little needle inside, so at 7am it pricks you with a little subcutaneous amphetamine.

For important meetings and early flights of course.

Set a mouse trap and lay it on top of the snooze button.
Problem solved.

If you have a droid phone or iphone, you can get an app that forces you to do a math problem each time you hit the snooze button. And you can set the math problem from disgustingly easy to fairly difficult.

it works like a charm.
