the laws are already in place and with having the cops called on him at
least 5 times prior to expulsion in addition to getting stopped by them
the very morning, you need to ask yourself, why was nothing done by Pima
County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik to incarcerate Loughner, in fact
throughout this past week the Sheriff has been defending the fucker and
trying to blam tea party members, people in the press and Sarah Palin
for Loughners actions... can we see a political agenda here from a very
'progressive' liberal sheriff against a pretty conservative and now
seriously wounded congress person? in fact I'm now starting to believe
this sheriff has put this young man up to this act, why else would there
have been no police in the immediate area prior to the shooting, isnt
there always security at these events


why did the sheriffs department fail to consider her safety and the
safety of others attending the rally

I have thought from the beginning that he was put up to this by someone. He seems too crazy to pull it off alone. He had to get a gun, find a rally, and then determine who to shoot. If he had no help, I'd be surprised.

finding the rally was easy, he was stalking the woman, he was legal to purchase the gun because the sheriffs department's failing in protecting the public by locking the turd up the half dozen times they had the chance

it's complicity at the least

unfortunately we arent allowed to blame the cops, the cops dont have to protect the public as has been decided on many levels all the way to the supreme court, you could be getting raped, robbed and murdered on the hood of the patrol car in the police parking lot and they dont have to do anything to stop it and there's no recourse that can be taken against the cops... understand why citizens need to be armed if they so desire?

Yeah really instead of blaming random interests of Jareds (notice they only go after the interests that the establishment wants to abolish or impede), or trying to enact more legal restrictions and infringing upon our rights...why not say this LE department did not follow up when facing red flags and they should be reprimanded, and LE departments across the country should be encouraged to use their powers and enforce the laws on the books to stop this in the future.  Arizona already has a law that a psychological evaluation can be court ordered if a petition is submitted, if this sheriff would have done this after arresting him and seeing his state of mind and the danger he posed.  With this psychological evaluation he would have been diagnosed and not able to buy the gun.

But if they did this they would be letting a tragedy go to waste (by not clamping down on the public and taking away our rights), and the government would have to admit they did something wrong and the system is fine if the tools they have were used properly. 
Too bad that's not really their stylee tho..

Given what we know about his dubious work history with an animal shelter, I'm certain everyone can agree that the true culprits here are altruism and puppies. If we could only find a way to ban these two supremely satanic influence I think it's safe to say that we'd be making the world a better place for tomorrow. Think of the children.:sad:

Mental Health Demand Soars After Tucson Shootings

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - Hindsight is always 20/20, but one can't help but wonder how Jared Loughner may responded reacted to some kind of behavioral health treatment.

We've been digging into the suspected shooter's background the last ten days and found no evidence that he received any help or was even on the radar of the Arizona's mental health system. Whose fault that is depends upon who you ask. Yet after the tragic events of January 8th, it's clearly raised the level of awareness across the state and nation.

"II think our community is grieving.  And we have definitely seen an increase in contacts."

Dr. Laura Waterman is the Clinical Director of Southern Arizona Mental Health Corporation or SAMHC.

She would not speak to us about Jared Loughner.  Though by every indication, there's no record of Loughner ever having contact with the state's mental health system. Even after multiple contact with police, disruptive and threatening behavior that got him suspended from Pima Community College and friends telling 60 Minutes that Loughner's been on the brink mentally since the age of 19.

"He was always an observer, especially around the time he started getting mentally ill," Tyler Conway said in a 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday.

From his interest in abstract films about war, alternative reality and conspiracy (Loughner reportedly subscribed to an abstract, online film known as "Zeitgeist The Movie"), Loughner's behavior definitely stood out.  Like in an amateur video, Loughner shot at Pima Community College last September.

"We are examining the torture of students," Loughner said into the camera while walking around the PCC campus.  "We are looking at students who've been tortured."

That very day, Loughner had been removed from a Biology class for being so disruptive.  Once campus officials saw the video, Loughner was suspended from PCC immediately.

"I lost my freedom of speech to that guy," Loughner said, referring to one PCC instructor.  "And this is what happens... I'm in a terrible place."

In Arizona, anybody can petition the court to have another person evaluated mentally.  That doesn't guarantee it's going to happen but it does initiate the process.

As for Jared Loughner, it's impossible to say what would've happened had somebody contacted mental health officials about his behavior.  After the events of January 8th, it's raised community awareness considerably.

"Some people have utilized our services because now they have concerns about other individual in the community with mental health needs," says Dr. Waterman of Southern Arizona Mental Health Corporation. 

"I myself have talked to several people who said, 'I just can't sit by and watch this anymore. I really feel like I have to do something.'"

Immediate behavioral assistance is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for anybody in Southern Arizona--whether it's for you, somebody you know or somebody you care about.  And it all starts by calling the SAMHC crisis hotline at 520-622-6000.

who's fault? didnt the cops have him several times, calling him a deranged lunatic?


Oh, that's right, they simply let him go and let him go and let him go
over and over again and now they're defending him, blaming the people
they wish to blame, not Loughners trivial interests and now he'll be
extradited to california where he'll get as fair a trial as he can get
and the Pima Sheriff is pissed... I wonder what Loughner could expose
about all these encounters with the cops in a courtroom out of their
jurisdiction... maybe the shooter was on the grassy knoll
