i cant wait to buy a djembe... (video inside)

this dude is fuckin awesome. i cant wait to get paid next week. im buying one ASAP. ive wanted to for such a long time but never got around to it. this video rememinded me of why i want one. there are no words to explain what it was like to hear people go crazy on djembes while tripping balls on acid. it was amazing. if youve never listened to someone drum while tripping, DO IT!!!

i have some sageman djembes (sagemandrums.com).  my favorite is the 28" deep carved.. it weighs like 30 lbs and can full a room with thick bass. i can't trip without them... and i'm sure my friends wouldn't let me forget them.  they can entrance an entire crowd, especially with acid involved.

Hell yeah, I've been thinking of picking up one of those drums too.

I wonder how easy it is to just pick up and play with no experience tho?

If you have a natural rhythm (most people with a heartbeat do..) then you can pick it up in no time.
Just play by yourself, play with a few heads and hit a few drum circles.
You'll feed off the vibe of others and should be able to pick up some tricks and shit in no time.
It can take many years to master but you can become proficient in short order.

Yeah, i checked out some lessons on YouTube. Looks pretty simple.

I'm gonna have to get one of these before Summer.

Anything I should look for when buying one? Any recomendations? Or ones to stay away from?

the hippy friends of mine i knew years back who introduced me to them told me to get one from www.motherrhythm.com (in case you were curious of where to pick one up at)

they have some good prices and some with free shipping

That's exactly why I'm wary about buying drums, or musical instruments in general, on the interwebz. You are taking a chance without testing it out first.
This hasn't discouraged me from buying online, however. My doumbek came from israel.

YES!!! i cant wait to learn to play so i can bust out some crazy shit when im tripping with people.

idk, i think im going to buy a professional djembe. i found a nice one for 150 bucks with a free case and free shipping.

i wouldnt want to risk buying a cheap drum.
