North Africa Anger: Protests over Governments in Tunisia & Algeria * 1

Tunisian police forces are opening live rounds on its citizens!

"Tunisian PM takes over embattled nation" is one of the few acknowledgements by CNN over what is occuring in North Africa. As Aljazeera has pointed out, I believe U.S. media is intentionally avoiding discussing why these problems are occuring because the complaints of the people so closely mirror similar problems in the U.S.

I've been following these stories on Al Jazeera.  The Cote d'Ivoire situation is particularly disturbing because of the violent urban clashes and the specter of the recent civil war. 

It's amazing how narrow the scope of practically all American TV News media is.  If it's not about partisan bickering, kidnapped white girls, or spinach recalls, you'll never find out it's happening.

Yep. Like Chomsky said, it it involves dissent over the total system itself, it will not be covered in mainstream media - which is state owned, and if it is will be twisted, ridiculed, and mocked as violence or insanity.

Its unfortunate that the only force that seems manages to wrangle all of this dissent into one agreeing force is religion.

Point being the major figures in the current government are mostly white (including the acting president and prime minister). The ones that aren't are more Arabic.

Race or culture isn't the issue here; it's the outpouring of anger and frustration from citizenry who reach their boiling point after so much neglect, exploitation, and corruption from a government that is supposedly by the people for the people.

I don't really give a shit about Africa, so I'm not aware of all the countries therein that aren't mostly populated by black people. I know that South Africa has a lot of whites, but that's about it. :shrug:

Africa is home to literally thousands of distinct cultures, hundreds of dialects, customs, and beliefs. It's the birthplace of language, art, music, and human ingenuity.
