lol, sorry, but i think that amount of colonization is ridicules (did prove the point though) .
judging by the first pic you could have spawned 3X as much compost and still have 100% colonization by day 5 . (must be your compost) . :laugh:
so with a 3:10 ratio you save 1 day by using 1 1/2 X more spawn . :crazy:
ah well, to each his own . :smirk:  nice job .

Object is that a higher spawn to substrate ratio .........
colonizes quicker.

Yes,1:2 or 1:3 is more spawn,what's your point? 1:2 will colonize much quicker than 1:5,I know this so what the hell are you talking about? What I meant is you wouldn't want any more manure than 5 parts for every 1 parts spawn. You get it now?

Oh,this is strictly for fast colonisation,you can get away with 1:10 but I like it when they are 100% colonized in like 2 days.

thanks for the lesson 6T, you seem to have all the supplies you need! thanks also to those who provided some entertaining 'discussion' in the thread. some came out of it looking rather foolish ! :blush:

since you are the spawn king, 6T, please answer me this: using straw only, is it important to stop 'frayed edges', and to keep it all compacted while colonising? and would it be worthwhile adding some bran? (i can't get poo yet)

Well seeing the pics, im assuming you use somewhat "Natural poo", but if one was to get some "natural poo" at a garden center and do a 1:5 ratio, would that be okay too? Also, for the ratios, what measurment are you using? Like cups or whatever. Sorry if this is a dum question. Peace bro.
