Vaporizers

Does anyone here use a vapor genie or similar?  There's a guy I've talked to for a few years and he's debating making a similar design, albeit different.  If you have one or similar, how do you like the design?  Does it work well for you?

My old vape. It was less than a humdred bucks and I dug it. Used to keep on the counter just like in the pic with a bowl of nugs beside it and people who came over would just help themselves when ever they wanted a smoke. Ahh the good ol days.

hm, his would be flame based like the vapor genie but that is a nice lookin vape for the cost.  the non-adjustable temp would bother me, but it could be much worse :smile:

Mine had adjustable temp. See the knob? It had a digital readout too. Regular price was like $129 but the guy than owned the shop was a customer. We took care of each other :awesome: He gave it to me at his cost.

i've heard a lot of people bash vaporgenie.  saying you can taste the butane and that it just doesn't work very well.

however, i've heard nothing but good things about the magic flight launch box.  cheap and portable.  the main drawback would be the short battery life, so you'd have to get a few extra batteries and make sure you have them in rotation charging.  but other than that it's supposed to be surprisingly effective.

interesting, you shouldnt use butane on them i thought as that kinda ruins the whole point of vaporizing lol

Right. Vaporgenies kind of suck because of the lighter. It's not discreet, and it wastes tons of fuel holding that thing there waiting for it to heat up enough.

I own the vapor genie and the MFLB and the launch box is superior in every way.

really though, butane can readily reach 2000 degrees f.  Aluminum melts at 1200 to give you an idea.  Avoid that.

I stopped using the genie when I got the MFLB... and for the record, the vapor genie doesn't contain aluminum parts. :shrug:

The Launch Box makes the Vaporgenie look like its from the dollar store. I don't consider myself to be a slow learner but after months of the VG I still couldn't hit it right without either getting nothing or combusting. Terrible product in my eyes. Tell him that unless he can make something better than the Launch Box to not bother.

it would be fairly similar but the composite element would be gone, and something much nicer would be used

Why would you bother buying a 80+ dollar vaporizer just to vape DMT? You can make "the key" for like five bucks, or buy a cheap freebase bulb...?

I've had two vapor genies and they work very well (when using a hemp wick).  I will note though that the longer hand carved versions seem to work much better than the original, as well as look much more aesthetically pleasing.
