Cure for insomnia?

Leaving to go wander around Walmart. I need answers OTHER THAN "you should smoke weed." If that were an option... I'd be stoned and probably sleeping like a baby.

I usually depend on weed to help my insomnia, but I'm all out at the moment so I'm sipping on wine.

Clearly smoke weed.

Stay away from melatonin unless you want to rely on it for the rest of your life.

Try some chamomile or hops..

Wearing myself out is the only cure that I've found works for me. Being physically and mentally tired seems essential for sleep. I can't sleep for days on end unless I do something that requires enough energy.

Both of these are the healthiest options, Melatonin release is effected by the amount of sunlight you get every day, if you don't get enough sunlight your body can keep itself awake for longer waiting for you to go outside. Also the light from computer screen have been proven to keep you awake.

Heres an article that goes in to the lack of daylight stuff a bit more.

You could smoke some green, or I find smoking Leonotis flowers good to help with my weed related insomnia if your trying to cut back like myself. I usually smoke every day, leonotis has been helpfull so far... well 8 days so far... haha I wonder how long I can go.... *looks across at vaporizer & stashbox mischievously* :evil2:

There is no cure for insomnia. For severe insomnia, nothing works. But for people who cant sleep once in a while, there are tons of remedies on the market... But you gotta find one that works for you. chamomile tea, sleepy time tea, melatonin, 5-htp(can cause drowsiness), advil PM, tylenol Pm, ambien, sonata, lunesta, benzos , opiates.... these are just some I can name off the top of my head...because I have tried them all!!! and when my insomnia kicks in.... NONE of those work for me!!!

But I have had horrible insomnia all my life. The ONLY thing that will knock me out is a high dose of seroquel, which isn't even a sleep-aide! Its an anti-psychotic medication! I once asked my doctor for seroquel to help me sleep, and he said that taking seroquel for sleep is like using a rocket launcher to kill an ant!!! But I guess he doesn't know how resilient this particular ant is!!! What sucks is that the amount of seroquel that I need for sleep is such a high dose, that I feel like a zombie for most of the next day... I could literally sleep the entire day!

I couldn't fall asleep last night cause I was feeling kinda sick.  Nyquil helped a bit.  I still didn't get NEAR enough sleep tho.

IV diazepam. best night slept ever. i also have very bad insomnia.

that was when i went to a hospital because of my panic syndrome and they decided to give me real medication(about the third time i went there in two months.)

i find documentaries(the old ones, without the guys with anoying voices, but that slow thick tones), mainly discovery channel help me sleep.

kava is also great.
