Who?

Anyway, the phrase "if I don't laugh, I'll cry" comes to mind. That reporter was a douche.

The Arizona Cardinals and former Cleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson have agreed to a two-year contract worth $7.25 million, a source told ESPN.com Wednesday.

The source said the deal includes $3.25 million guaranteed, and with incentives would max out at $18.25 million.
From March

I think that reporter had every reason to ask why he was laughing as his team was getting
beat down. Dude gets paid well and even though it is by default, he is the QB and getting
paid to be a leader.

Anderson completely overreacted.

He's on his way out of the league anyway.  If Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart weren't complete busts, no one would even have heard of Anderson in the first place.

Are you saying that if there were better QBs Anderson wouldn't have a job?  Well color me shocked in pink.  I had no idea that that was how it worked.

Coaches fall in love with his height and arm strength. Some games he looks legit but
he is such a head case and folds whenever there is pressure.
Dude was an interception machine even in college.
You'd think with his arm and wideouts they'd be able to somehow muster more than
13 yards rushing. LOL

So glad Anderson is gone from Cleveland.  He's got a great arm but horrible accuracy issues.  If you look back to his "Pro Bowl" season, he still wasn't that great.  It was Cleveland's receivers putting their body on the line to do whatever they could to catch the ball.

I hated the pick at the time but have no problem with him. He got his ass beat every
play and got up, got under center, and took the next snap. Dude was tough and he
gave his all. He never pointed his finger even though he had no blocking, no running
game, and had an over all inept front office. He got screwed more ways than I can
even get into. Was he a great QB? No. But the cards were stacked against him and he
knew it but still gave it his all. I will never hate on Tim Couch.
I'd of traded the pick to Ditka and used all his picks with the extra picks we already
had and went all in on O line and D front 7. That or I'd of picked Ricky Williams.
Definitely not a QB.

Derek was better.  Much better.  Even though it was for only one year.

I can't honestly see either as better. Couch was tougher and had more heart. Before last
year Couch was the last QB to beat your boys. Couch won some games with absolute
scrubs. Travis Prentice running the ball ..lol.  I won't say Couch was better but
to say Derek was better .. I just don't see it.

ive watched the browns since they came back.

And Tim Couch never really worried me.  The Browns had QB problems forever.

The only time I was scared and kind of caught by surprise was watching Derek out there hurling the ball to Braylon and Kellen.

That was honestly the best Browns team I had seen since the Testaverde days.

That was all Braylon and Kellen. Most receivers would not have made those catches.
The throws were not on the money. Derek and coaching cost us that year.
Man, I wish the Browns still had Kellen Winslow. They never used him to his true
potential.
Believe me, Tim Couch never really worried anyone.

He obviously overreacted, by the fuck does a reporter care so much about why he was laughing?  For all we know, Deuce Lutui told him a dead baby joke to keep his spirits up.

Are players supposed to grimace in pain non-stop when they are losing? Typical overindulgent fucking retarded NFL media.

It's not the question that made this exchange a national story, it was the reaction.  I really don't have a problem with the question...The media asks stupid questions all the time.  This one isn't so terrible, especially considering the fact that it had already been made into a big deal by the MNF broadcast.  If anything, asking the question afterwards gives Anderson an opportunity to explain, "Deuce was telling me jokes in order to cheer me up" if that's all it was.  Instead, he goes all King Kong and storms off like a child.

You were scared of Derek Anderson?  That's a little shameful.

Couch at least has my respect.  He knew what he was in for the minute we drafted him, and he went out and played/took a beating week in and week out.  He wasn't the greatest but he played his heart out and did whatever he could to help the team.  After Anderson had his pro bowl year he kinda got cocky.  I remember hearing stories about him always being out partying and stuff, just like Braylon.
