Popcorn in the oven...any experience?

I've searched all over the message board and i couldn't find any documentation on sterilizing popcorn in the oven except for some vague talk of kernals popping then others saying they didn't, etc. I just want to hear any experiences. I know you should soak it for 24 hours, then i was thinking maybe 45 minutes @ 250 F (do you think it would just be better to boil it for 30 minutes or something?) then microwaving 2 minutes on 2 minutes cool 3 times. Does anyone have any experience with temp and time in an oven? I don't wanna burn the kernals but i want to be sterile... Lstly, think i should throw a top layer or verm? Or better to mix in... Oh and no talk of PCing please, don't have, can't have one, one don't want one. Thanks guys.
