How do I install apps on a Droid emulator?

I've got the emulator working beautifully on my PC, I know you can use it for developing and testing apps, so I should be able to download some and use them on the emulator, right?  I just want to play Angry Birds! :lol:  My Droid Eris can't handle it, it's way too slow so I figured it'd run great on a PC with 6 gigs of ram. 

The marketplace isn't preinstalled on this emulator image and there's no file manager to install things with...  does anyone know how to do this?

Well I got the marketplace working, I click to install the game, and the download fails.  I know it's getting a connection because I wouldn't even be able to browse the marketplace without it, but it just goes really slow then fails at 2%.
