The meaning of life...

I can guarentee that everyone who "trips" has at one point or another, come up with his/her version of the meaning of life, or the key to it all...I would like to know what yours is...
For me, the meaning of life is just that...Life! A cycle, you are born to create another. There's no big secret hiding behind those clouds in the sky, for me, the meaning of life is seeing that light that I MYSELF put, into the eyes of my child...I CREATED A HUMAN BEING MAN!!!!!!!!!!(With a little help from the girlfriend of course) :wink:
Does anyone else have the meaning to their lives yet? :grin:

The most important thing that i've learned from shrooming is that there probably is no meaning to life. Not one we can understand anyway. I think of the vastness of the universe and it makes me think of our lives as a strange evolutionary path of nature. And if there is no divine order for us to be here, our spirits maybe just be nothing but illusions. But as long as this illusion exists, we can strive to improve ourselves, to experience everything, and make our lives feel full so that when whatever this is ends or changes, we can experience our final moment in satisfaction and joy.

Someone once said that the meaning of life is so impossoble to comprehend, that if one were to cram the knowledge into the human brain, that the person in question would be so insane that they'd die...I forget who though...

i figured it out one day while high with my girlfriend at this park.  we were lying down on the grass and watching the flies fly around over our heads and i saw them flying into each other, away from each other, then colliding again... then it hit me... THE MEANING OF LIFE IS.....

collision!

of course!!  everything we do is a part of a collision.  the smallest atoms collide with each other and form new bonds, or seperate and bond with other atoms/molecules.  the little fruit flies were colliding at a fast rate because they are a lot smaller than us and their life span is shorter, but we collide in the same way.  once in a while, we get together with people and try and figure out if we want to fuck.  if we do, we fuck.  then we usually go find someone else to fuck.  or we keep fucking them.  so this is our collision.  if you saw someone's life on fast forward, you would see the entire life consisted of meeting people, being (colliding) with them, talking to them, fucking people, seeing people, whatever... we always end up alone, but go back to being with people... and so clouds collide to form thunderstorms, air masses collide to create weather, planets collide, solar systems collide and send life hurdling further through space... galaxies collide, destroy, form new galaxies and new life forms.  animals collide and kill each other for food.  people collide and reproduce, overpopulate, collide and fight wars, destroy each other, then make room for new life  :grin: :grin: :grin: :grin:

So human destiny is just a colision course?

I like that observation...It has alot of strong points that back up my theory.
Why the, do we collide? is it to procreate? YES...So that we can contunue the cycle, like I was talking about earlier...
BUT, we collide in many other ways as well, not just sex...

yeah, i was talking about meeting people, arguing with people, fighting, fucking, killing, and everything else... those are all forms of collision. everything is chaos=order=chaos (and so on) order is born out of chaos. that's why life came out of disorder and death. but if you have life you will eventually have disorder and death so chaos = order = chaos can be death = life = death... same thing

I think maybe there is no meaning there is just being.Life is somthing to cherish and live through.If procreation happens to you your just better at being than those it dosent happen for(maybe not better but certainly youve prolonged your genes stay on the earth)
I just feel the meaning cannot be just procreation as to many died before they get that chance.You can make huge changes in the lives of others with out producing babies.


My second though would be that all life is connected through the food chain so the meaning is just to be part of the whole soup that is life on earth.

but good thought provoking thread :smile: think i'll go out into nature for a walk and think on it for the 1000th time :smile:

I think life doesnt have a meaning. We happened, we are a collision of molecules which caused to form humans and like every other pattern of molecules we reproduce, so thats our purpose, to reproduce because thats what life allways comes down to. But humanity has made an unconscious reason for existance which is progression. Since we exist and havent found any reason for it we just keep trying to grow and progress from what we have, and so we progress, individually and together(individually its a never ending fight for happyness). If there is no stop to time we will one day live on every planet we know... because we multiply, and our technology needs to progress along with us. I believe we will come to a point in technology where science doesnt need to prove something physically for it to be a fact, we will go into a phase of spiritual science if you will (hell, even Alchemy was science to us once) and this science will prove things uncomprehendable now.... but I think shrooms, or the trip dimention, well at least the thoughts one gets during a trip has a link to this. But knowledge of why we exist will never prove itself to us, or else we would never ask this question, and then we would never struggle to find out, thus never progress and get anywhere.

i totally agree with you. people look for these deep bizarre meanings and stuff, and they analyze and interpret their religious texts until its all a bunch of cliched bullshit. i believe that all thes religions and stuff are pointing out how to live, but we ignore that, and just analyze deeper and deeper. we all just gotta be alive. procreate, respect nature, evolve, and love :-)
