Wow.  I can't imagine being so focused on racial identity that i would go from hating jews, to being associated with that religion just because i found out new information about my ancestry.

Thats just insane. 

If next they find out they're martians are they going to put all their energy into creating laser guns and exterminating humans?

If they find out they're related to apes are they going to live in trees and throw poop?

No real identity.

It's really not that surprising, the general mentality of an orthodox jew isn't really that far off from a skinhead. Jews just tend to be better educated and less violent. 

Some people need a strong sense of tribal identity, and external validation.
