Hookah info?

I'm looking forward to purchasing a hookah, Is there anything I should look out for? Are non-tobacco molasses addictive (even slightly)? How damaging is it to the lungs? Also, how good is a hookah for herb?

hookah tobacco is, as i understand it, no less damaging than cigarette smoke

packing herb in with your hookah works, though i think it tends to be more wasteful than other methods of smoking

Yeah, I'll put shwag in a hookah, but I'd never put my nugs in there.  Would be far too wasteful.  Weed burns much different to shisha, so it might take you a while to figure it out.  I had the most success with an equal blend of shwag and shisha, ground up real good into a homogeneous mixture.

all i know is that the one time i used a hookah, it had some weed in it and alot of shisha.
we sat there for at lest an hour smoking that thing. so relaxing i could do it all day

kk, online websites all basically have the same thing and theyre not too good, but basicallay..

1.) get a one hose, they hit the best by far unless your trying to drop a shit ton of money. 50$-100$ can get you an amazing one hose

2.) change the water often!

3.) By holland coals, its a great brand and theyre a little smaller than the rest of the coals, they burn just the juices and leave the tobacco mostly unburned, makes the hookah hit amazinggg

4.) by either Starbuzz or fusion tobacco, its more expensive, but its absolutely worth it. stay away from al Fakher and other inexpensive brands
starbuzz is the absolute best, hits amazing and the most flavors. i suggest white peach, irish cream or pinnaple

5.) clean the hookah every so often.

this would be true if when you were done with the hookah bowl, it was full of ash instead of tobacco. but if you smoke hookah correctly, you only burn the juices off the tobacco and leave it the tobacco just a little charred. This way you just toss the done tobacco and put more wet tobacco in the bowl. This is much better for your legs than smoking cigarettes

a hookah session is about as harmful as a pack of cigarettes. the difference is you don't smoke hookah as often as you smoke cigarettes. So while 1 session might be the same as 1 pack, you might do it twice a month as compared to once every 2-3 days.

Clean the water.

Imported shisha is always a great choice, but StarBuzz is a great brand, though expensive.

Clean your hose. Run water through it, blow it out, repeat. You'll be glad all those bits and pieces are coming out in the sink/toilet and not in your mouth.

1. Smoke Nakhla brand

2. Use tin foil over the shisha bowl and poke holes, the screens are usually shit

3. With herb, after grinding mix it 50/50 by hand with the shisha, and smoke as usual. I get way more stoned when I smoke with a nargila.

4. Squeeze and put a lemon in your glass base, it will help flavor the smoke. Be sure to empty afterwards, or it will stain the glass.

What about tobacco free molasses, are they as damaging? do they contain nicotine?

The nicotine in cigarettes/tobacco is the least of your worries. Cigarettes have several hundred documented toxins in them. 

But smoking any substance is extremely bad for your health.  Burning any type of plant matter creates tar.  If you do it, do it sparingly.

If it's tobacco free, it's probably safer, but it's definitely not safe.

My main worry is being addicted to the stuff, and yes, I realize smoking stuff is bad, so I do it sparingly.

If you do it sparingly, addiction shouldn't be a problem.  Not for nicotine.  Maybe for heroin, but not for nicotine.

Tangiers is the most supreme shisha of all time, but also unwashed therefore more nicotine... it also has a learning curve to preparing and setting it up correctly. If done wrong it tastes like bbq/soy sauce or rubber.

I recommend Tangiers Lucid, it's the washed version. However not all flavors that are offered in OG are offered in Lucid.

Nakhla is the cheapest, like dirt cheap, and still pretty good. Lacking on good clouds some times, but you can buy a $5 bottle of glycerin and make it a bit more moist (thus stronger clouds). Too much glycerin and it tastes like soap however.

Most herbal substitutes SUCK, straight up. I've tried several, but this brand "Salaam" came out about a year ago and they aren't half bad. In fact it's actually good... best have your third eye on you when you're smoking it though, it burns much easier than tobacco based shisha and gets mondo harsh.

On a side note, Salaam uses some kind of sugar cane I believe (It's been a long time since I've researched this) and if that is the case, well it may not be much healthier.

Correct me if I'm wrong though, but isn't nicotine comparable to caffeine in terms of detrimental effects?

I believe it's mostly everything else in cigs that kill people.

I remember hearing something similar, not too well I'm afraid, they said that if you used a vape on tobacco you should be just fine, except it weakened the white cells against cancer or something similar, memory is fuzzy.
