i pretty much swallowed the pieces whole. last night i ate some cold spaghetti. that's all i've eaten for 2 days now pretty much.

Aren't dry sockets caused by when you create suction in your mouth and pull out the clot?

I had a tooth removed a few years ago and I had to smoke a J since the opiates were making me so nauseous. I just rolled up a VERY loose joint and hit it a few times and it worked like a charm.

Speaking of wisdom teeth, I've got one growing in sideways on my upper right hand side. It's gotta come out sooner or later, but damn I'm nervous about it.

I'll make sure to get Nitrous and Percocets and maybe some Halcion too, but it's still gonna suck.

Yeah dry sockets are caused when the blood clot is dislodged somehow.
Just don't put a lot of stress on them the first 2-3 days.
You can smoke, but I would advise using those gauze pads the dentist should have given you, keep those moistened and packed over the holes and keep them clamped down with your teeth. Don't create a ton of suction, if you are going to smoke.. smoke very gently with the gauze pads in and you should be ok.
I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed surgery style and I couldn't eat solid foods for a few days after.. but I still smoked the whole time through and didn't get dry socket, just gotta be careful.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I had to roll my own extremely loose cigarettes and joints and I didn't have a problem.

Just don't drink anything through a straw and if you need to smoke something, don't suck on it too hard.

Dentist also told me the smoke itself getting in the wound can cause problems, it's not just the suction.. hence keeping a sterile covering over it.
