AVI to DVD conversion software * 1

been searching the internet for ages trying to find a free program that converts avi-dvd, so i can play my movies on any dvd player.

at the moment i have to use my PS3 or hook my laptop up to the TV if i want to watch a movie on the TV.

is there such a program which is free?

yeah its all good if i want to watch a movie upstairs on my ps3. but when i want a movie to watch with the family it means i have to pack up the ps3 and move it downstairs, then move it back upstairs after.

it will be easier when i get my new laptop with hdmi output then i can just take the laptop down.

but there must be another way

I have DVD Fab.  I've been trying to figure out if it can convert avi or mov to DVD also.  If not, I would love to know of some free software that will do the job.

DVDFlick is pretty good. Very very simple to use. After its configured its pretty much just drag an avi file in, click burn and your done.

I use one called ConvertXtoDVD4, it rocks but you gotta get the crack for it.  It converts anything to dvd and it has a 2 pass option to make a better image.  I use it to convert x264 movies to dvd for my dad who doesnt have a computer to stream it to a tv.

I recommend Convertxtodvd, its so easy to use and works great, and you can add chapters and menu really easily.

Download the crack here and paste the 2 files into the folder where you install convertx and it should crack it.

So normally when a DVD player doesn't play it means that the DVD player doesn't support that file type.  You need to know what format your player will play then convert it to that format.

Heres a crack for the newest version on their website.  Just paste the 2 files in the folder where you installed convertx and it should work.  Lemme know if it doesnt.

In the options go to the encoding tab and check the box "Two-Pass encoding" because it makes a better picture.

It also burns the dvd for you, so in options go to the burning tab and change the settings to the burn speed you want etc, and if you want to keep the files afterwards uncheck the box called "Delete Folder After Burn"

Its also got options for chapters etc, just skim through the options to make sure u got everything u want set up.

i use devede on linux & it works great; i guess somebody has made a windows version of it
