For over a year now 38 countries have been negotiating an agreement behind closed doors that will give them the right to violate your fourth amendment right to unreasonable search and seizure, and to have you arrested based on mere accusations. Why haven't I heard about this you ask? Simple. They don't want you to.

After multiple requests, no access to the current drafts of the agreement have been granted. The extremely shallow information contained in the few leaked documents contain very little information regarding the agreement. I'm sure we can trust our government to choose whats best for us right? After all we just don't have any time to be involved in our own fate. We have our farmville crops to worry about, cant let them wither.

The few facts that have been leaked about the agreement are nothing short of a modern day George Orwells 1984. The government is introducing a three strike act., which means the third time you are accused of infringement by any copyright holder, your ass is locked up. Not only that, but they also reserve the right to confiscate your electronics at airports and make a complete copy of all its contents. Oh yea, almost forgot. The agreement makes your IP provider liable for any copyrighted material its users share or download, making it a necessity for them to monitor your every keystroke.

How can this happen you ask? It's simple. This is not a treaty. It is called an executive agreement, which gives the president the power to unilaterally negotiate and push this through with other foreign nations. It is basically the same thing as a treaty except it lets the president negotiate whatever he wants without the approval of the congress, or the American people. Oh yea, and he's doing it illegally for two reasons. 1 because executive agreements are in no way supposed to interfere with the constitution (see the fourth amendment) and 2 after the congress passed the case act of 1972, the president is obligated to disclose the details of any international agreement within 60 days.

So it comes down to this. You can either sit back on your fat asses and let your freedoms be taken away while the powers at be laugh at the worlds ubiquitous ignorance, or you can do something about it. Tell anyone you know.
