Portuguese Hash?

I went over to the Azores and came across some hash. I was just wondering if any of you know exactly what this stuff is made from. It doesn't smell like weed at all, and needed to be heated by a flame in order to be crumbled into a cigarette. Some locals told me it was essentially pollen, but I have a hard time believing that, especially since that would mean this product comes primarily from male plants. I have read that hash is the hardened thc "sap" that forms on the leaves and the top of the plant. I have also read that pressed keef is a type of hash. Also, I don't think they were selling me some fake product, they would smoke it with me regularly.

Good weed , very great hash, yes it could definetly be morrocan. If so you are DAMNED LUCKY because that's primo quality.

I got to smoke some real morrocan today, A friend of mine whom just came back to Belgiumm took some hashish from his father :lol:

'Pollen' is just a name for hash,not to be confused with what comes from male plants.

It looks like low grade Moroccan. Good smoking all the same though. Best to burn a decent amount on top of tobacco in a joint.:thumbup:

Well I got used to smoking the finest of hazes, including purple and different varieties of kush, so a 10 piece square wouldn't get me that high, just a nice, light, breezy type of high. But once I rolled a whole 20 up into a cigarette, I got blazed beyond belief. It came from a huge block, about 5" by 5" by 1.5" or so. It looked like a giant piece of chocolate, and it had some sort of stamp / design on it.

What you can get in Marocco is crazy of quality, I can believe that you found some in Portugal, it isn't that far away so could easily be smuggled.

But same here, small amount but would get you ultrahigh

Over there,when plants are harvested they are put inside large drums and beaten on until all the goodness has fallen to the end. All that is then pressed together. You can see the compression lines in it.

So I guess it's not just the sap at all, but crystals, shafe, and weed debris pressed together. It was funny, the guy tried to sell me some marijuana leaves, :ilold: Buds were really hard to come across there. All the guys I talked to weren't able to get it regularly.

I've never had it my self, but always hear people talk about it...



Considering they just sieve the buds, collect the trichomes, then press it together (correct?...), doesn't sound like it would be all that great compared to Bubble hash or other methods...




But that hash does look very tasty :yesnod: ! ...

Actually Cannabis has fine hairs known as trichomes with bulbs at the end. The hairs are filled with cannabanoids. The trichomes are removed mechanically then pressed together.

Not true. It all depends how it's pressed. Some Moroccan hash will dust up nicely on it's own but others won't.

Indian Charas is solid as a rock and needs a flame to soften it. Heavy indica hash. :laugh:rool:

Centuries of experience, perhaps. But other than that, it isn't that much better anymore than the hash that is produced in, say, the Netherlands. The only reason why Moroccan hash could be better is that they don't sell bud; all the cannabis plants are stripped of their trichomes as Jimtown points out (there's a beautiful German documentary on Youtube about it) and the dust is either sold as is to traders, or pressed into bars and then exported. First beating is the best hash, second beating is sell-able still, third beating is crap hash. In the West, hash is often made from the clippings of bud and may therefore be of inferior quality, although this is certainly not necessarily true.

But of course, 'Moroccan hash' sounds very...authentic.
