That narcotics czar, or whatever he was looked like a complete douche! When the Baltimore cop asked the audience "who would smoke crack if it were legal?" and no one raised there hand was the highlight. That's the message that needs to be intensely conveyed to the public for this to work. Thanks for posting!!

Thanks, I watched the whole thing. Stossel is a cool guy. Propaganda machine conservative Fox News allowed this to air?


I liked the audience member who brought up that they had to draw up a constitutional amendment just to criminalize alcohol. The Pro-drug war guy from California had NOTHING to say, but dodge the question with some cheesy stuff about "fighting the good fight" or whatever.  Even if he acknowledged or accepted the guy's point,  he'd never admit on national TV that the whole drug war is basically unconstitutional.

Its not really the federal govs job to protect people from themselves, and definitely not by force or terrorism.

That whiny guy Beck has come out for mj legalization, in the past. I will keep this page open and watch after work. Probably nodding off to a snorted dilly, or add a bit o meff to the mix. My plan for saturday afternoon. Non IV speedball. 8mg dialaudid and a decent line of speed, maybe a 40mg. hhhm it's a thought. but I digress, shower and work time.

The term "war on drugs" has always been colossally fucking stupid to me. That phrase aligns with the belief that drugs are a cancer on our civilization and need to be stamped out at all costs.

Drugs serve a purpose. A jobless 45 year old man who doesn't provide for his family because he'd rather get high and doesn't see any point to life; that's a problem.
A 45 year old loving husband who enjoys a J occasionally, but doesn't let it dominate his lifestyle; fair.

It's the quantity consumption and the idea that it will dominate your life for the worse that's the enemy here, not drugs. Doctors hand out drugs.
They serve a purpose.

The ex-military guy was actually a great insight into the mindset that keeps this shit-ball rolling.
I don't know if you noticed, but all of his rhetoric was along the lines of "this is the fight, we're pushing as hard as we can, it's either this or we admit defeat" -- that kind of thing.
It's exactly his type of beat-the-problem-into-submission mentality which has gotten us into this mess. People think that by acting tough enough, whatever they're attacking will dissolve ... but that's simply childish.
As a nation, we just need to grow some balls and admit that a mistake was a mistake. Pursuing that mistake with greater rigor will only make things worse.

I just don't like the way he brought the military up, good job, you did what thousands of americans have done, wtf does the military have to do with drug prohibition? I just facepalmed, for all we know he was in afghanistan behind a desk somewhere, and if not, wtf is he bringing up the surge for :facepalm:

I listened to his points and shook my head the entire time, then when he brought up the surge I was like "Are you kidding me..?"  I'm pretty sure there was an awkwardness when he said that shit in that room.

And on the other hand, He acts like my dumb ass brother who thinks since he served during a war that his opinion somehow means more than if he hadn't. Unless I'm wrong and being on the battlefield somehow earns you the right to be a dumbass then whatev
