CCR is a classic rock band way before your time.  A lot of young people like 'em though.  I listen to oldies and classic rock stations in my car so there's no 'NEW' top hits coming on there :smile:

I've studied theology and delved into years of philosophical thought pertaining to a higher-power.  I am a former Baptist Christian turned Atheist.  I truly reject the notion that this was somehow 'Divine Intervention'. Hypothetically speaking, if this was 'Divine Intervention' why would God want to spare a Heathen like me anyhow? :smile:

Also, LaserPig put things into perspective: I actually thought the name of the band was "CCR". But the real name is Credence Clearwater Revival. Makes more sense now. I know psy-trance artist GMS has an acronym name, but they really just call themselves GMS. Its different for Rock I guess. Not my genre.

So you used to be a Baptist Christian, then converted to Athiest?!  I gotta know what happened. What made you change your mind?

As for Divine Intervention, maybe God's trying to say "Come back Sprezz, come back to the light, and I will save you in the afterlife as I saved you from this car crash". Just a thought. There could be a million reasons why He might do this chain-of-events. But to say God wants to save you, and not starving children in Africa, or women who are raped by strangers, is unfair. So its hard to say what's God's intentions are, if God actually exists.

Wait, I figured it out, it all makes sense now, here's why God saved me...


I suffer from a severe case of split personality disorder where I embody three different beings.  One, of course, is that I actually am God, the other is Satan, and as a result of identity crisis between the conflicted schism of God and Satan (two split-personalities), as a defense mechanism, I manifested who I perceive myself to be as I write this to you now.  I am completely essential to the balance of evil and divinity and as an omnipotent being recognizes the necessity to keep me alive to prevent a premature apocalypse.  Since all three of us are the same entity, who are unaware that we simultaneously exist in the same plane, 'God's' subconscious is attempting to keep his alter-ego (me) alive and I only perceive them as subtle warning signs. :wink:

The reason I don't believe in God anymore, is the same reason I don't wear diapers anymore, I evolved.  My rejection of God didn't come out of pain or misery, but rather clarity, and my ascending understanding of Science & Mathematics.  Simple intelligence with a reasoned perspective naturally led me to determine 'God' is an illogical equation.

I've never published a book.  I've attempted to write novels but have always lost interest in them and trash canned 'em. 

I've published Essays and 'Contribution Articles' as well as a couple of 'Dark comedy'/ satirical short stories. Eh, nothing worthy of any major attention.

I did write a romance piece that was pure sophisticated vulgarity.  It had a compelling storyline encompassed with perverted brilliance.  I sold the story to a film student I was friends with, for a half-gallon of vodka back in 2002.  He was supposedly working with John Waters on short films for submission to the 'Johns Hopkins film festival' but apparently nothing became of it in that medium.  Coincidentally, two years later, John Waters directed a film entitled 'A Dirty Shame' that they filmed in Baltimore that featured bits and pieces of the story I wrote.
