"A glitch in the matrix" (weird occurrence)

I went to my mom's house for dinner tonight and a little while before I left a weather warning flashed on the T.V. that there was a storm watch 'til 2am.  There was this blinking lightning bolt icon on the screen. While the bolt was still flashing, I reached around under the couch looking for my other shoe and found 3 CD's under the couch... one being a CCR CD, I even said "hey ma, you still want this CD!?"

I was driving home in the rain, and a double-pup FED EX freight trailer pulled out in front of me, out of the very same road one pulled out on me earlier this morning when I went to do some work for my Dad (who lives in the same area).  I said "You again!? Christ, deja vu."

I was driving on an interstate over a large, empty, high draw bridge when CCR "Down on the corner" came on the radio.  I felt a little paranoid about the rain picking up and the fact CCR came on made me a little uneasy (even though I love the band) so I slowed down to about 30 miles an hour... Just then this HUGE bolt of lightning hit this tall metal pole about 50 feet in front of me. The guy that I was driving right behind before I slowed down must've freaked (he was much closer to the bolt than I was) because he SLAMMED on his brakes and hydroplaned like a mother fucker.  If I wouldn't have slowed down when CCR came on, I would've been in that guy's backseat.

I'm an atheist and a logical person, but yeah, I'm a little freaked out by the strange coincidences.

Ok one of a 2 things is gonna happen to you. 1 Angents are going to find you because of the deja vu. 2 you are going to die its only a matter of time till death catches up to you. Anyway have a great day. :grin:

Yeah, got some major bad vibes when I got on that bridge and heard CCR and remembering that weather warning when I found that CD.  Luckily for that dude that hydroplaned it was just me and him out there.  It's very strange to me when things like that happen, because some idiot would've just said "it was god who saved me"... but when you're intelligent, you have to investigate other possibilities, like the evolved human mind's ability to perceive its own pending doom.

I honestly believe that synchronicity might be a real phenomenon which we just don't understand yet.

Quantum entanglement? Or, something?
Who the fuck knows how it works, but it certainly seems to happen.

The more I learn about Quantum Physics, Parallel Universes, Cognition and the Human Mind, the more I wonder if strange occurrences like these are only coincidence or not.  I absolutely reject all notions of God... I do ponder, however, the plausibility that there's science that could explain how this is beyond coincidence.

Wow, thats a crazy story there. :omgz:

Being an agnostic myself, I can't help but think that God works in subtle ways, like how they said on that one Futurama episode with the Binary Galaxy Cloud: "If you do too much, people become dependent on you. But if you do too little, they lose hope". In my mind, that really sums up the involvement of God in reality and explains why evil and suffering still exist, but that little "miracles" like Sprezzatura.

It could be "evidence" for the Matrix philosophy, as you said Sprezzatura in the title. Crazy stuff.

One part I don't get in the story is (1) when the lighting bolt was flashing on the screen, why did you look for your shoe *at that moment*?

Also, the fact that the lighting blot on the screen, and the finding of the CCR CD (sorry, never heard of CCR, but I do now) were so close together, time-wise, really makes this story amazing.

I've had similar "coincidences" involving girls. One year of college I met this really pretty girl in my Chemistry with green space-crystal eyes, my favorite color. Anyway, the second time I went to lab, I was late, and had no lab partner. Then, this girl named Laura Green (I changed her first name to keep her anonymous), came late I she asked me to be her lab partner. Whats interesting about her name was that her first name, Laura, was the same name as a girl I met 4 years prior, who I consider my girlfriend.  I really felt in love with that other girl with the same first name. We grew apart because we lived thousands of miles apart, and the long-distance relationship wasn't enough for me.

Secondly, her last name "Green" (her real name), is my favorite color since I was a young kid, like 4 or 5 years old. Reminds me of the forest and green grass, the outdoors. Also, the fact that her eyes were actually vibrantly green as well, was also a coincidence.

So back to the story, the college year goes by, and we get kinda close in lab and a class right before lab, which we also had together.

So the coincidence, in my story was this: On the *day* before our last lab of the term, the last time I was going to see her again, I saw her walking out of this large super-market near my house. A lot of people go there, mostly college students, but in the 3 months that Chemistry class occurred, I never saw her anywhere else but in Lab and the class before lab. It was like fate was trying to keep us together. That day, I was totally amazed by what happened. Its happened to me, and the feeling is awe-inspiring

If it is beyond coincidence, that means there's some rhyme or reason to it, which means it can be explained, which means it's vulnerable to scientific inquiry.

That's in principle.
Realistically, I have no idea how one would go about conducting experiments in synchronicity.
