Why does everyone think that the millenium falcon sucked?
    #12623813 -

In star wars? Every time someone saw it they commented about it being a pice of shit or something. I may not know too much about space shuttles but hey I thought it was pretty nice.

 makes me feel like a nerd but I know exactly what you're talking about

it's like, how could it be the fastest ship in the galaxy and also an old junker?
seems like incompatible claims

i think they just wanted it to be old and junky to add to the underdog flavor of Han Solo

Are you kidding? It's the ship that made the Kessel run in 12 parsecs.

i actually was really into star wars when i was young.

the ship was heavily modified, i think even illegally so.  it was shitty at sub-light speeds but had a very fast hyper drive.

it also had alot of weapon and power modifications, but yeah it was always falling apart.

The Millenium Falcon was a YT-1300 light freighter produced by CEC or the Corellian Engineering Coorporation, one of the most popular space transport hulls ever produced. The appeal of the YT-1300 transport was not its basic equipment, 100 metric tons of cargo space, but its ability to take extraordinary amounts of modifications.  Excellent navigation is an important part of Hyperdrive speed and because Chewie was a member of the Claatuvac navigator guild his expertise was critical to the Falson’ hyperdrive modifications.

That just makes the Kessel run 12 parsecs long, since a parsec is a unit of distance not speed.

12 Parsecs = 2.30082338 × 10^14 miles
