Also, how much will the potency be "upped". I know that the tryptamine experement upped it by 10 fold in psilocin, but what will, 300 or so mg of 5htp do?

i thought you wanted to add tryptamine to the substrate, not 5-HTP.

Add 5-HTP to your BRAIN for about a week or two first. It's better for you and you'll have more feel-good juice in your brain to release. Don't know why you'd do it any other way. Yeah, you chemists can explain those seratonin thingys and stuff.

Does 5-HTP work IN the substrate at all or would it make more sense to add melatonin?
5-HTP=(L-5-hydroxytryptophan)
melatonin=(???tryptamine)
