it pays to buy concert tickets right when they go on sale...

i got to a ticketmaster place right at 10 AM to get tool tickets as soon as they go on sale. i was going for the best balcony seats available since the floor is usually open and no seats. weve got a pregnant chick goin with us, and well be tripping (except her of course) so none of us wanted to stand for 3-4 hours. well, turns out the floor is seating, and i was able to get 4 front row tickets. FUCK YEA!!!!!!!!!

also got a ticket for the gogol bordello/primus show :smile:

anyone else seein tool or primus this summer???

note: buy your tickets RIGHT when they go on sale. immediately!!!!

i have a feeling that the front row will be crowded by people standing up and getting as close to the stage as possible, no?

i understand your desire to sit, given the circumstances and the pregnant chick, but honestly, i fucking hate shows at venues where everyone is sitting.  sitting for a live rock concert just doesn't make any goddamned sense.

i suppose it's a good thing that bands i like don't generally play in huge pavillion venues.  tiny, dank, crowded dive bar venues FTW.

fuck standing up and dealing with sweaty smelly ass people when we can sit down and trip balls. who wants to do ANYTHING while tripping balls at a concert???

i hate people who bitch about seats at a concert. who fuckin cares! i have a guaranteed front row seat to a TOOL concert.

ive never really listened to gogol bordello. dont know anything about them other than they looked weird as fuck and sound weird. so, LSD is in hand for that show. i saw les claypool and the fancy band a few years back but never primus. cant wait for that either :smile: im going to see shpongle on wednesday night too. this is gonna be a fun ass summer. so far this year ive seen bassnectar and pretty lights...

well i'm sorry you hate me for such a silly reason.

but i can explain why i think venues with seats are lame. 

for one, i like freedom.  i like the freedom to move where i want.  i like the freedom to jump around and thrash about to the music, should it strike my fancy.  i like being able to jump and stomp and clap to the music, without some uppity douchebag behind me getting pissy because he can't see and is too lazy to stand up.

secondly, seats are a waste of space.  you can fit at least two, nearly three standing people in the space occupied by one seated person.  meaning whilst standing, more people can get closer to the stage.

besides, in my opinion for a concert, it's just a better atmosphere to have people standing and dancing together and milling around in the crowd.  you can't fuckin rock out with your ass planted in a chair.

I'll be driving from NC to St. Charles MO for the Tool concert. Got some good molly for the show as well.

For this 13 hours drive, they better switch their fucking set list up.

that would be pretty sweet if they pull out some new stuff. ya never know with tool...

theyre set list from summer 2007 was fuckin badass. couldnt have imagined a better show.

I not even sure I understand you correctly...you don't want to do ANYTHING while you're tripping?
That sounds horrible, I like to move, and go all over wherever I may be when tripping, and I couldn't imagine doing it any other way. :thinker:

if the time calls for it, but for those hours right after ingestion and while peaking, im pretty much incapacitated. i just want to sit there smile and listen to the music. i dont feel like jumping around and shit when i trip. maybe at bassnectar but not tool.
