how does one re-evaluate their own morals? if they are not contrived like you've explained

you use logic and reason.

how feeble minded are you? seriously.

Morality does not uniquely come from the supposed word of god. it is something outside the realm of religion all-together.

Morals are contrived and should be. Animals have no morality, they have no intelligent capacity FOR morality. Humans on the other hand, should be intelligent enough to understand that there are certain actions that in most instances are not justifiable, and thus deemed wrong or evil inherently.

I dunno if doing the wrong thing can ever be morally right, but mostly my problem with morality is that it too seems to be so personal.

Personally, I think morality should never be used as a basis to "justify" or essentially make right something that you know is wrong. Evil people throughout history have always made a morality argument to justify their evil deeds to the populations they dominate. And the problem: what fits into your morality is not necessarily the right thing for me.

that is my point, morality is personal.

you SHOULD re-vauluate ALL of your morals to fit in line with what your beliefs are.

Thats why I think beliefs are bad. Ideas are good because you can change that eaisier than you can change someones dumbass beliefs.

Surely then, you have to concede that the people arguing that steeling is wrong, no matter what, are in essence as much right as you are.

You may disagree with them on a morality platform, but morality isn't truth and you have to acknowledge that their morals are at least as valid as yours.

So, herein lies the problem. How can a debate like this ever be conclusively settled? Each one of us will have a different perspective in the matter.

Maybe I'm a fucked up individual, but I don't see any wrong in steal head and shoulders, some razors, or some toothpaste from wally's world. I don't feel anything but accomplishment when I walk to my car from "shopping".

Stone me?

That seems just a wee bit hostile.

No problem with people who don't like debate, and no problem with pitiful people who won't continually strive for that ever-elusive enlightenment. That's their own choice (and loss).

Why come out on the attack?

I guess that's because you're in a crabby mood...

Respect dude! *salute

Pity you perhaps.

now we're on the philosophy of stealing, lol... there's nothing
philosophical about it, it's just theft because of greed

you need to re-evaluate your morals here.

okay lets count this out:

1.) stealing from poverty-stricken villagers is morally OK.
2.) stealing from greedy, money hungry corporations with billions of dollars that steal and enslave impoverished villagers, BAD.

you need to make a distinction between when stealing is right and when it is wrong, you are literally arguing in favor of both arguments here.

When you steal from said money hungry greedy bastard corportates you think they are affected? I've said it before on these forums and I have to say it again. They take bonuses and cut corners for the ones below them to make up for it. Stealing is greedy in any sense because you don't know how they will make up for it. Honestly people who steal are just lazy, greedy, and flat out pricks. Get a fucking job and pay for your shit. I would also like to add that when I worked for the elect. department at Wal-Mart I had my bonus taken twice because the theft was so high. I'm glad those corporates are paying.

there are kinks in the system, Maurer. the people smart enough to steal deserve everything of what they get. as people who aren't smart enough to understand they have freedom will widdle their life away in a cubicle somewhere

all of us thieves are either going to end up in jail, dead, or a trailer park... If we could think bigger, and come up with some white collar schemes we could avoid those and become rich lazy greedy pricks.

And then profit :zaphod:
