It is defensible because of the highly questionable business practices of Wal-Mart. IE: outsourcing slavery.

They are winning over the mom and pops because they aren't playing the market fairly, yes legally, but morally? hell no.

Thus even if you are breaking a law, when they are not, it is still just. They hire un-entitled peoples of another country at slave wages to monopolize essentially all basic goods, purposely shutting all competitors out of the competition. I would say it is fairly morally just to steal from wal-mart. If anything, to balance out the monopolization and to take back what they have taken from others.

However, I personally do not steal from wal-mart because of the high risk versus small reward, otherwize, down with the system, I would rob them everyday If i knew I could get away with it.

Fuck capitalism.

Again

It's amazing how many here are in WAL MART's defense. Makes me .....especially since this is the fucking shroomery. We really are living in a corporate slave state when the majority of (working class or middle class) people actually feel indignation over this. GTFO

You are not hurting Wal Mart and you aren't hurting other consumers either. I think some petty theft is insignificant compared to Wal Mart's immorality.

DON'T FUCKING SHOP THERE THEN. Just don't shop there and you will have made your point. Stop trying to say that stealing is OK when you know it's not. You are not being noble here, you being a bad person. Two wrongs don't make a right. Stealing from Walmart IS still wrong. Your stealing. Go live in a fucking cave if you think the world is so corrupt and you can't be bothered to live by a law that really is a moral idea. Stealing from people is wrong and you know it. It hurts people even if you think it doesn't. Trying to justify it just makes you look really stupid.

If people didn't want walmart or their products then they wouldn't have put places out of business. I shop at walmart and if I saw you stealing from there I would grab you myself and hold you till the cops came. If you have a problem with society thats fine, but don't try justifying stealing that costs everyone that shops there money. If anything you would think people would at least respect themselves enough to not steal. I don't care who it is, you don't take shit that doesn't belong to you.

Say what you will about theft being wrong. You have a point. Bottom line though is that this is a capitalist society ant theft is a part of capitalism. No matter how you look at it, stealing is work. By stealing you are not hurting the economy, and you are not hurting any people either.

Yes, in the big picture everybody pays a very little bit more for things because you get them for free. Fuck it though. Capitalism honors greed and cheating. Thieves just cheat better than most people.

Your hatred of shoplifters and my hatred for the giant evil corporation are based on the same value.

And I said, I don't care if they lay me off either, because I told, I told Bill that if they move my desk one more time, then, then I'm, I'm quitting, I'm going to quit. And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk ...four times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and its not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire.

Thats what shelters are for. People are not stealing food to eat, they are stealing because they are greedy. Don't try to tell me that we have starving people in the US that have no other option but to steal to survive thats BULLSHIT.

You guys are stupid mother fuckers. How you come to the conclusions you come to are completely self serving just shows what type of people you are. You can't compare crimes that hurt people and crimes that don't harm anyone like they are on the same moral scale at all. Now your just reaching.

2.) my point is that wal mart did not "work hard" to get where they are. they outsourced their labor to far less entitled people of other countries for literally slave wadges, entrenching these people in an endless cycle of poverty.

what's a slave wage in Malasia, what's a standard wage in Malasia

you're repeating rhetoric based on the guilt of the bleeding hearts,
walmart is just a company, there's nothing inherently evil about them,
what's evil is the fact that the world has a desire to posses crappy
products made in 3rd world countries by people that choose to work for
those companies and then decide to make up some bullshit about how all
companies are evil because they exploit the workers and keep the world
in poverty... I feel no shame for providing those people some kind of
income, an income they wouldnt have without my purchases, they'd still
be living in mud huts in the jungles, killing rats for food without walmart

you are making a huge error in assuming that without wal-mart these people would have no jobs. It is because of companies like wal-mart that these people have no room for growth. Wal-mart is cheating these people out of money they deserve, regardless of where they live. You are saying it is a good thing that the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.

Even if these people would be in poverty without wal-mart, it does not prove the virtuosity of outsourcing. you are still paying them far less than what their labor is truly worth. You are essentially stealing money from them, and according to your moral values, stealing in any instance would be wrong, well hey! here is a very prime example of theft, and not just theft, but slavery ta-boot.

Also im not saying that all companies are inherently evil, nice try with that straw man. I am saying that companies who steal and enslave are evil. The world never wanted crappy, cheap, goods and services at a cheap price, but wal-mart essentially forces those in America who are also in poverty to buy goods becuase they are CHEAPER. if you are poor and need a certain ammount of food, you will go for the cheaper products, basic logic here.

How can you place blame on the people? How can you say that its evil that the people wanted this? No the people didn't want it, but because we are fucking poor, we have no choice! It is an endless cycle of poverty/capitalism.

It is not liberal rhetoric that I am arguing here. you are trying to justify and even claim agency in theft and slavery, because if we weren't stealing and enslaving, then someone else would be? does that make it right?

"hey if i dont enslave these villagers, someone is gonna!!"

you need to re-evaluate your morals here.

okay lets count this out:

1.) stealing from poverty-stricken villagers is morally OK.
2.) stealing from greedy, money hungry corporations with billions of dollars that steal and enslave impoverished villagers, BAD.

you need to make a distinction between when stealing is right and when it is wrong, you are literally arguing in favor of both arguments here.
