Do you seed/upload torrents you download?

I always try to seed for a few days if I download something, always try to get to at least 1:1. I've been using what.cd a LOT lately, especially because today was Freeleech day (I hope that wasn't a joke). I was just looking at uTorrent and realized that I have 93 albums up for that I'm uploading. Crazy sauce I say!

Yeah I try and upload as much as I can. I wish What.Cd allowed me to upload more, but since everyone seeds its hard for me to get any real upload time unless I'm one of the very first to download it.

I always seed, and if I have anything new, I upload it.

Ive uploaded 3 terabytes through my oldest private tracker. Many hundreds of gigabytes to the others.

Setup another old computer with xp or linux and use it as a torrent server. RDP or VNC into it to download torrents, then once they have downloaded FTP to your laptop or whatever to watch movies, or better yet setup the server also as a media pc, or router/firewall.

What does this have to do with how much you seed?

yah because if you setup a server, it runs 247 and thus seeds 247, and takes less load on your desktop or laptop.

i need to do that.. i hate having to close my torrents and screw people over just because i want to play an online game

popular stuff that is very well-established & represented already does not get seeded.

Rarer stuff stuff, live shows, niche music & movies get seeded months.

Anything I take from a private tracker stays shared.

your not saving any bandwidth. its going to run on the server just as fast. if your client is that heavy then you need a new client.

i usually seed everything for a month or two. i download a lot more video than audio though. i use Acid and RevTT the most.

Acid is nice cause it goes by a per-torrent ratio, not global (for the most part). you have to seed the torrent 1:1 or 72hrs (whichever comes first). anything over 72hrs or 1:1 counts x1.5 to your upload credit.

I seed all the ones i downloaded but try to mostly seed the ones that have hardly any seeders on them
