Turbotax 2009 Fed + State + e-file

So I'm looking into doing my own taxes with Turbotax 2009 Fed + State + e-file. I read plenty of reviews about buggy software and state e-file cost $19.95? Isn't there an option to print state info and mail for free instead? Damn, Intuit! :mushroom2:

i have no state taxes, but due to my deductions and situations, it still costs me $30 bucks to do it all...but i llike turbo tax, works fine for me, get my money fast (in fact, i had my tax return posted to my bank account last friday...)...and i didn't have to sit around filling out 30 pages of paperwork...just 30 screens...lol, well worth the money, would cost you even more to have a tax prep person do it...

Federal is free but it costs for state. I downloaded Turbo Tax for free and spent about $20 out of a $1500 refund. Not bad IMHO.

free for basic, most people need the deluxe, if you have any deductions, donations, property taxes, mortgage, etc...

Definitely get the deluxe! i got 1800 back this year

Because of the new american opportunity credit for being in school. $2500 tax credit. Couldn't believe it!

That's awesome because I am a student and the New Hope credit only covers the first 2 years of school. The New American Opportunity credit gives students 4 years to claim. :syringe:

I just went ahead and payed the for the state taxes, and I worked in two different states last year so it was twice as much. I did get my return in almost exactly a week though which was very nice. :borat:

No, I bought the program. I'm probably being paranoid but I want anything dealing with the IRS to be 100% legit. It's really not worth saving $40 to get fucked by them in some way. All they need is an excuse and I'm not willing to give it to them...

I did my taxes myself on HR&R Block.com. Took like 15 minutes.

The fee for my state taxes was more than what I would have gotten back

YOU DONT need software. Go to tax act dot com and walk through it. PM me with any questions.
I have investment interest, high income, and several complicated itemizations it handed perfectly for less than $20.

yeah, but that only works if you print it out and mail it in at the end, i like the e-file, and just use the online version, buying a disc is a waste...plus, i get a discount through my bank anyways, so its only ~23, but for the extra 3000 it got me on my return from all my deductions, tis more than worth it...

Did my taxes through Turbo, thought it was low and went to taxactonline payed 15 bucks but received 600 dollars more in federal.
