NFL.com 'experts', LOL
    #12042602 -

So these genius "experts" over at NFL.com put out their "who will be the team to beat next season.".  Some of them I can understand, the Cowboys, for example, look like they may be on the up-and-up, and Green Bay started to look OKAY at the end of the season, but some of these rankings are ridiculous.

Of course, two guys put the Colts ahead of the Saints, and one guy put them at the top.  I guess that's understandable, they are still a good team, but I think they are going to continue their losing streak in the playoffs.  Same goes for the Chargers, they just cannot pull it off in the postseason.

But Bucky Brooks is my favorite:

Quote:
#  1  Cowboys
# 2 Colts
# 3 Chargers
# 4 Eagles
# 5 Packers
# 6 Vikings
# 7 Steelers
# 8 Jets
# 9 Saints

Really!?  The Jets, Packers, and Eagles over the Saints?  Goddamn, some people really just don't want to admit the Saints are as great as they are...

Ah well, they'll show em next year.

Who do you guys think the teams to beat in 2010 will be?

Saints will be in the top 5 but the chances of them going to the next Superbowl isnt high

I would love to see Dallas get a chance to play a Superbowl in Dallas. Id buy tickets.

So, basically you are butthurt that 2 out of 7 people picked the Saints to be out of the top 5 teams.....

no no no, I knew y'all would think that after I posted this.  I know it's very unlikely the Saints are going to win the Super Bowl again next year, that's not even what this is about.  I could see the Cowboys making it too.

What I don't get is this:
#  1  Cowboys
# 2 Colts
# 3 Chargers
# 4 Eagles
# 5 Packers
# 6 Vikings
# 7 Steelers
# 8 Jets
# 9 Saints

I just that is completely ridiculous.  What have the Colts done to be up in that list, while the Saints are #9?  Lose?

And trust me, 'butthurt' is the last thing this kind of thing makes me.  I find this crap funny.

But that is just 1 guy's picks. Most of the others put the Saints either #1 or somewhere in the top 5

Yeah.

Anyway, it's way to early to even think about making a list like this that has any meaning at all.  these are just lists of these guys personal favorites.

Sorry, I know it is hard to believe, but the odds of the Saints repeating are not very good at all.

The moral of the story is that sports writers are largely jackasses.  They all want to be the first to be the lucky ones to call the out of nowhere story for next season.

Just like last year, I'm sure we would be calling some schmuck who called the Saints winning the SB a jackass. At this point, before the draft or free agency, all this shit is a crapshoot.

That said, I think it's clear the Bears are the odds on favorites.

I wasn't even trying to make this about the Saints, I only mentioned them.  My point was how stupid these "experts" usually prove to be.

You guys got some serious hard-ons for the Saints.

It brings me great pleasure to live with a Bears fan and a Browns fan. On top of that some of my best friends are from Toledo which is littered with Detroit fans. It's really an amazing experience.

That's how I feel about living with Mets fans.

The sheer stupidity of these guys is a direct result of them being forced to come up with content for the shows all the time.  Sooner or later, and by the sheer volume of stuff they have to put out, every one of them looks like an asshole at some point.  Every one of them.
