I was a little confused by that too. I first thought it could be a mistake diagnose because when I left it with the tow truck guy (I did not ride with him to the shop), I left the car in "Neutral", which means the lights were on. I'm pretty sure that once my car got dropped off at the auto shop that the mechanics there would have been smart enough to shift it to "Park" and turn off the power.

Haha I'd love the print! I technically got it in one of my two problems suspected.

I had a 1990 Honda Civic SiR that suddenly decided not to work sometimes, after hitting starter motors, fuel tank etc to see if that would get it going i tapped the dizzy with a spanner and sure enough she fired up! Did it twice more in the next 2 months and the third time it just wouldn't go again. I also had a crack in the distributor casing which didn't help but the ignition module was shot.

Cost me a decent $460 just for the module! Pretty sure it was 7 days from Japan too, this is going a few years back now.

Yea, me too. It sucks when shit goes downhill and then you have to take it to the mechanic. Then they charge a gazillion for something that I'm sure is pretty simple.

I feel like I'm missing something out of life by not knowing how to fix/diagnose a vehicle.

ignition coil is dead? but probably the wire from your coil to the distributor is short circuiting/grounding to the block because the wire's insulation is dry rotted. easy fix, hope i win!

a short in the electrical fuse board where u put the fuses.
too high amperage of fuse place in the fuse system.

***New Update***

I just called my mechanic this afternoon at 12:53pm, and I asked him if he finished installing the ignition module. He simply said "Ready to go".

Wow, I feel like I'm on a mission now! Feels like he said "Alpha squad is Ready to Go!".

I'm be back later (after I drive around town recklessly in excitement) and tell you if there was any other complications and the grand total for the "parts + labor".

Stay tuned participants...this is gunna get exciting! (actually, not really)

Here's the actual mechanics invoice that lists the part replaced and the price of parts+labor.

^Note: No new problems were found, so the original diagnose is still the same as I posted earlier.

Here's the actual part they actually repaired. Its the housing, that's connected to the spark plug wires that have red "4, 6" numbers written on it.

Before I announce the winners, I'm going to change some of the rules a bit since most of you don't want my prints...

New Contest Rule: After realizing how difficult it is to diagnose a problem on an automobile without actually it there to investigate, I am going to let the person who guessed the right "diagnose" choose if he/she wants the spore print or my 256MB SD card loaded with porn and/or music. The user who guessed the closest dollar value to the total "parts+labor" cost will get the other prize (from the 2 choices available).
