Nuclear sanctions
    #11808607 -

I really want to stay away from politics as much as possible in this thread.

I just find it ironic that the only nation to have ever used a nuclear weapon against another country tries to circumvent other nations from developing such a weapon as they might use them as a weapon of terror. (Not sure how else a nuke can be used...)

Of course, any thinking individual realizes there is no morality behind this stance. 'First World' nations don't want any others to enter the elite club because it levels the military playing field to a great extent - hence the demonization of the leaders of such countries trying to enter the big times.

Well, That kind of seems obvious doesn't it?

My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end.

I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW!

I'm just glad that I live in a 'First World' nation.

How the hell could this thread not really dilute into political discussion? What else would we say?

Of biological weapons don't wipe out most the population its the use of nuclear weapons.  Retaliation will most likely occur killing even millions more.  Its no suprise to anyone that the US is a fear mongering hipocrite.

I don't see the lack of morality. The idea is that peace is a balancing act - disrupt the balance of power and you get more war.

Countries with nukes try to extort aid and have negotiating power with them.  Yeah, it's a power play to some extent, although who knows whether the real motive is protection or dominance.  The two go hand in hand.

You don't like a challenge? Just because I really hamstrung you there...

Seriously, I am more into the psychology of such a stance than the international repercussions for the nations involved.

I didn't use the word 'wrong' anywhere, now did I?

The point is, why cannot the USA state it exactly as it is? Why the game of pretend?

Not always. Attila the Hun said he would destroy any village that resisted him or that failed to pay tribute. He pulled no punches. Had no PR campaign except for heads on a stick.

BTW, what is the grand finish?

I save my masochistic urges of enjoyable self-destruction for things like smoking cigarettes and doing hard drugs, not for dying from a nuclear holocaust.  :nonono:

To be fair. Level playing field and all.

Why would we want to do that unless we were at the bottom?  Leveling the playing field brings us all down to the common denominator - fuck that.  I want to maintain the balance of power and our current hegemony.
